Happy Kat

Kat and her kittens
Lying in the sunny spots
So snuggly and warm
I was so cold and tired. I just wanted to lie down. I crawled away from the place on the living room floor where the boys and I had been playing, and went over to my sunroom to curl up in a sunny spot. These days of winter are especially harsh on me when the sun refuses to show itself. I think I could manage the arctic temperatures and the mountains of snow if we just got a bit of sun once and a while.
This day, the sun was making an appearance, and I didn't want to miss it. It felt so good on my back and sent warm tinglies all the way up to the top of my head. My mood immediately improved. The boys must have heard me purr because just like that they all came over and curled up with me. We lay there for quite a while together. And it was lovely. My heart took a snapshot and filed it away in my mind's vault under "favorite moments".

Snuggly yous ... and a great haiku.
:)

Isn't the sun wonderful? Our winters aren't so cold as yours, but they ARE generally overcast and dark. We, too, have been so thankful that we've had some sunshine lately.

Thank you for stopping by my blog. :)

:o) Very nice. Living in FL my whole life, I think I'd get severe SAD if I lived anywhere else.

aww that is so sweet :) The sun always brightens my day too - I hate it when it's been grey for a while, I get so depressed :S

This was great. I love the snuggle and warm place in the sun - a day doesn't get much better than that!

That's the best!

I had to actually run back in the house for sun glasses the other day and trust me...I am NOT complaining!

Last winter when I was pregnant, any moment there was sun in out sunroom, I was laying out there. There was only one little square of sun that would fall on the futon and that is were my face was, soaking it up, imagining the warmth.

With the sun out the other day it was such a teaser. Now I am like a little kid waiting for Disney...I can't wait for spring, spring break and out trip to Florida! It just can't get here fast enough!

Have a wonderful weekend Kathryn!

We are finally hitting the 30's this weekend after negative temps! It is a freaking heat wave! I'm with you girl...winter needs to be gone!

Old man winter needs to know that I have flying monkeys, and I ain't afraid to use them on his frigid butt!!!

We're in snowy, freezing MN, so I agree with you ... take those warm patches of sun shine whenever you can get them, even through the window.

Thanks for a great haiku!

I grew up in the Midwest (down South now)...no one down here understands the deliciousness of that warm, yummy, sunny spot on the floor on a cold day...

Great memory with your boys!

Love this!

How cute is your pic?

Isn't the sun just the best when it finally peeks through the winter clouds? Our leather couch gets super warm as well, and I can't sit in that spot long enough.

Have a great weekend!

I see I commented on this one the first time and I do remember that picture but I loved reading the words again!

Thanks for linking up Kat! : )

Words To Live By

Be grateful for each new day.
A new day that you have never lived before.
Twenty-four new, fresh, unexplored hours to use usefully and profitably.
We can squander, neglect, or use them.
Life will be richer or poorer by the way we use today.
Finish every day and be done with it.
You have done what you could;
some blunders and absurdities crept in;
forget them as soon as you can.
Tomorrow is a new day.
You shall begin it well and serenely and with too high a spirit to be
encumbered with your old nonsense.

-Ralph Waldo Emerson
