Yes, yes. I know I don't do memes. But I was forced! I was muscled into it! She made me do it! And trust me, you do not want to mess with her. She is one tough cookie. Why do you think she calls herself Imbeingheldhostage? She is referring to ME! Okay, fine, maybe she is talking about being held hostage by her five children, but you get the idea. Plus, she lives In The Gutter! Don't mess with J!
So here ya go, J, you asked for it. This one is for you.
Does Santa wrap presents or set them under the tree? I don't know how lazy "Santa" is at your house but the "Santa" here wraps the gifts AND sets them under the tree. Oh yeah. You heard dat right!
Colored lights or white lights on the tree? WHAT???? Who even says something like that? That's not very politically correct.
When do you put your decorations up? When the last group of geese take vee-shaped flight to the sky. When I can see my breath in the car on the way to school in the morning. When I begin wearing socks to bed. Or, the first weekend in December. Which ever comes first.
What is your favorite holiday dish (excluding dessert)? Are you saying that you eat food OTHER than dessert for holiday dinner? That's weird.
Favorite Holiday memory as a child: It was Christmas Eve, and I was about 5 or 6 years old. My mom and dad were just finishing up reading Twas The Night Before Christmas to get me to sleep when all of a sudden I heard sleigh bells. I jumped up from my bed and ran to my bedroom window. When I looked outside I saw a big, golden sleigh filled with presents and 8 reindeer too! Just then I heard a thump downstairs and though my parents told me to slow down I sprinted down the stairs where I saw SANTA putting presents beneath our tree! He quickly turned to see me, smiled, and motioned for me to come to him. I cautiously walked over, my legs shaking with excitement. He told me that little girls are supposed to be in bed by now so that he could do his job. I apologized immediately, and he chuckled his bowl full of jelly laugh. He reached into his enormous sack and pulled out the most beautiful dolly I'd ever seen. I thanked Santa a thousand times and he sent me back to bed. I hugged that dolly tight all night long, and I still have her to this day.
Oh wait. Nope. That doesn't sound right. Yep. Oh yeah. Mm-hmm. That was a dream. Never happened. But it would have been pretty cool, right?
When and how did you learn the truth about Santa? You mean about him being Satan? I think I heard that from a lady handing out fliers in front of a strip club one night.
Do you open a gift on Christmas Eve? Only if I can stay awake longer than everyone else.
How do you decorate your Christmas tree? With my toes. I told you I have very long toes. It's impressive, really. And the lovely scent of the Frasier Fir covers up the toe-jam stentch quite nicely.
Snow! Love it or Dread it? Love it. Until I start to dread it.
Can you ice skate? They don't call me Brilliant Blades for nothing!
Do you remember your favorite gift? Nope.
What's the most important thing about the Holidays for you? Eating as much food as I can without throwing up.
What is your favorite Holiday Dessert? The biggest one.
What is your favorite tradition? Winning the food eating contest.
Which do you prefer, Giving or Receiving? Giving. The business.
What is your favorite Christmas Song? The Christmas Song
Candy Canes! Yuck or Yum? It depends. Does my breath stink?
Ever recycled a Christmas present? Aren't we all supposed to be going green?

One More Time
I am such a sucker. I was tagged for a bunch of memes and though I vowed not to do them anymore here I am again. *sigh*
But this is a really fun one. And since I don't have any memes about my dear hubby I thought I would do this one that Elaine at The Miss Elaine-ous Life tagged me for. Here it goes!
What is his name? Todd
Who eats more? He does. Most of the time. hehe
Who said, “I love you” first? He did. Sucker!
Who is taller? He is by like 6 inches.
Who drives most when you are together? He does because he's a REAL man. Or because I am busy jumping from the front of the minivan to the back to fetch the boys toys/sunglasses/blankets/animals/etc. that they either dropped or threw. After all, we both know I'm the better driver, right honey? ;)
Who’s more sensitive? That one probably goes to me although he is very sensitive too.
Who does the laundry? I do. Todd always tells me that he doesn't mind doing the laundry but that he doesn't like to fold it or put it away. HAHAHAHA!!!!
Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? I do. I'm always right. heh heh
Who pays the bills? I do. You do remember that I used to be a banker, right?
Who cooks more? I cook and he grills. Truthfully he is a very good chef. Very good.
Who is more stubborn? We both are. It can be a problem at times.
Who is the first to admit they are wrong? He is. Because he is a smart, smart man.
Who has more siblings? I do. He has 2 and I have 5.
Who wears the pants? We both wear pants. Sometimes shorts. And once in a while if we are going out to dinner or something I'll wear a skirt. :)
What do you like to do together? Wouldn't you like to know! Dirties.
Who eats more sweets? ME! Unless it is cookies. He can eat more cookies than anyone I know.
Guilty Pleasures? Yes, please!
How did you meet? At a party. The complete story is here.
Who asked whom out first? He asked me out about 3 or 4 times before I finally said yes, cuz I was cool like that. See above.
Who kissed who first? Don't ya both kinda have to be there at the same time in order for a kiss to work? Hmm. Well, he probably leaned in first, if that is what you're asking.
Who proposed? He did. Very sweet and very romantic.
His best features & qualities? Oiy vey! So many. I love his strong jaw line. And his arms. Very nice. He is a very handsome man overall. He is super smart, super funny, super loyal, and super kind and compassionate. I'm a lucky lady to have stopped playing hard to get and let this guy catch me.

(This is us a few years ago at my best friend's wedding.)
Okay, enough with the memes. I might get to the other ones soon. Or, maybe not. We'll see.

What I would like y'all to do is go and check out these awesome posts.
The first one has been running through my mind for the past week. I just love it. It is such a wonderful reminder. Thank you, Lisa! Click on over there and check it out. Life With Our Little Ladies
This second one is great because I love a good rant. Especially when it is warranted. Not only that but Chrissy really "gets" it. I went from being really mad to having tears in my eyes. Smart lady. Love it. Tales From the Carpool Lane
The third one was written by Amy at The Brat Pack. She put the whole Favre/Packer debacle in layman's terms. It is entertaining and very funny, and I couldn't agree more. Well done!
The last one is from Nap Warden at The Chronicles of a SAHM because I am so into these Olympics. I am loving it. Well. And. Ahem. Just because, okay? Go check it out. :)
Thanks for making me laugh and for making me think, ladies!

Awards and Memes!
Okay. I have been such a freaking slacker. I have gotten some really frackin' cool awards and I never even acknowledged them. Ugh! I know. I rot.
The first one was from Kristen at Loving Our Simple Life. She made her own award to hand out to people who also love their lives. I think this is the best idea and I am so honored that she gave it to me because I really do LOVE my life. I'm glad it shows.
The next award came from Elaine at The Miss Elaine-ous Life. Sharing the love. Isn't that sweet? Thanks for sharing your love with me, Elaine. I can always use more lovin'.
The last award came from Sandy at Momisodes. I can't believe she considers me a must see blog! I freaking love Sandy! She is so smart, funny, and sweet. Not to mention beautiful. I love reading her blog and it is definitely a must read for me.
I am supposed to pass this award on to 10 blogs that I consider must see blogs, so here it goes:

Okay. I know I said that I wasn't going to do any more memes, but I found FOUR memes that I had done a while back but never posted. So... I thought I would post two of them now and two of them some other time. I'm sorry, I have no idea who tagged me. If anyone wants to step up and take the blame I'll be happy to link you.

And seriously. What IS up with Favre? What is he thinking? So disappointing. Many of you asked what I thought about the whole situation and I basically think he is giving up his chance to go out with style. He has been in the NFL for 16 years with the same team and he wants to give all of that up. He said just a few short months ago that the only way he would return for another year is if he could guarantee a trip to the Superbowl but that it was just not realistic. Now he thinks that it is realistic learning a whole new offense with a different team? Come on! He isn't being very loyal to the most loyal fans in the league. And I don't like that he is blaming it on the Packers organization for making him decide so early. Of course they need to know early. It impacts the whole team in a huge way. I will always be a big Favre fan, but I really feel that he is tarnishing his image.
Come on, Brett. Use your head. You have had an amazing career. Longer than most guys would ever dream of. Go out on top. Go out with the team and the fans that have stuck by you through it all.

One More
A few months ago I was all meme'd out. I just couldn't do another one. I even grabbed the Meme Graveyard badge that Jenni had made and posted it bravely on my sidebar. Still, when I was recently tagged by Cara at Mia Due Bambini and Stephanie at Adventures in Babywearing I thought I would do just one more. I haven't done this meme before, I reasoned, so I will break my own rules. As we all know, I don't like to follow rules anyway. And keeping in the not following rules I will not post the instructions or tag anyone. Ha! I'm such a rebel!
-What were you doing 10 years ago?
"It was the best of times and the worst of times" for me in 1998. I was just finishing up a very busy theater year. I was on stage with the leads in 5 or 6 plays/musicals that year and I was exhausted. I had also just gotten my first apartment and was living on my own in a city where I knew no one working at a new job as a mortgage processor/underwriter. That part of my life was great.
At the same time I had finally let go of a three year relationship that I had very high hopes for. The realization of it ending was absolutely devastating to me. I bounced back and forth from putting on a good, strong front, to curling up in a ball on my apartment floor sobbing. You know, your typical heartbroken girl.
I had sworn off any more relationships. I was going to be on my own. Enough of guys. Blahh. Little did I know that I would get a glimpse into my future on July 4th when I met Todd for the very first time.

I was adjusting to being a first-time mom. It was an absolutely magical time. I couldn't believe how much fun I was having as a mom. Being a stay-at-home mom was a dream come true for me. And it really helped that Joey was the easiest baby in the history of the world. Joey was my little buddy. We went everywhere together. Here we are visiting my friend Jennifer in Madison in July of 2003.
Just as I was finishing up this meme I found out I was tagged for another one. The book meme. I haven't done that one either so, fine Tonya, I'll do that one too. I kinda have to post the rules for this one, but I'm STILL not tagging.
- 5 things you need to do today?
1- Wash all the sheets
2- Visit Dad
3- Remake all the beds with fresh sheets (I am dreading it. I HATE making up the bunk beds)
4- Clean up basement (we had some water in the basement after all the storms) and put everything back in its spot
5- Go for a run (once basement is cleaned up and treadmill is usable again)
-5 snacks you enjoy?
1- Potato chips and french onion dip
2- Ice cream Drumsticks
3- Chocolate covered strawberries (my favorite!!!)
4- Summer fruit (I know, bo-ring!)
5- Fried cheese curds (it's a Wisconsin thang)
- Things you would do if you were a billionaire?
How do you know I'm not? HAHAHA!!!
How do you know I'm not? HAHAHA!!!
Um. Too much money makes me nervous. I would feel really guilty having that much money. So I would have to give most of it away, and then I wouldn't be a billionaire anymore. Then Todd would be super pissed cuz I'm sure he wouldn't have a problem being rich.
Let's see. I'd definitely set up our families. Then I would give a crapload to church and St. Jude's Hospital, and any other charity that was worthy. Then I would travel all over the world 20 times. Oh! And I would spend the rest of my money finding another energy source other than oil. Can you freaking believe the gas prices? HELL-O!?!?!
Hmm. Doesn't sound like I have THAT much trouble being a billionaire after all.
-Places you have lived?
- 3 different cities in Wisconsin
- wedded bliss
- Virginia
- on the brink of insanity
- Jobs you've had?
-Ugh. Who cares? They were boring, more boring, and most boring! All banking stuff mostly. Sa-nooze!!

Just as I was finishing up this meme I found out I was tagged for another one. The book meme. I haven't done that one either so, fine Tonya, I'll do that one too. I kinda have to post the rules for this one, but I'm STILL not tagging.
1. Pick up the nearest book.
2. Open to page 123.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the next five sentences.
The only book I have close to me right now is U2 by U2. It is a collection of pics and stories from all the members of U2. It is awesome. Unfortunately page 123 is a picture so I went to page 125 (the next page with writing). It is the middle of a paragraph by Larry who is talking about their first video shoot.
"There was a scene where the director, Meiert Avis, asked me to splash through a puddle. I said, 'I'll get my new Docs wet.' He said, 'Yeah, well that's what we want for the scene.' I told him, 'Forget it.' I wasn't getting the boots wet.
HaHA! All done! Two more memes done!

Meme Monday
You asked for it. I didn't want to do it, but you left me no choice. You crazy people out there keep tagging me for memes. I have done so many of these flipping things that I am running out of things to say about me. TRUST ME. I am not that interesting. But, I will oblige and play along. Although, I AM NOT following the rules. I will not tag anyone else and I will not tell you the RULES of each meme. Why? Because I don't like being told what to do.
Jamie from Choosing My Own tagged me for the purse meme. This is what is in my purse. Most of it I knew about, but there were some surprises.
I wore my brown boots last night so I wore this brown purse to go with them.

In the first zipper section we have some photos, coupons, receipts, my wallet, and my checkbook. No big surprises there.
The second zipper section we have my cell phone, hand sanitizer, hand lotion, makeup, contact lens case, crossed off grocery list, Elmo band-aid, nail file, nail clipper, a pill case (Excedrin, Ibuprofin, and allergy pills), dental floss, gum, pens, a stain remover, pads, a tampon, and for some reason tortilla chip crumbs (????). Okay.
Middle zipper has my sunglasses, a hair clip, and a hair band. I don't know how my hat fit in there.
This is where it gets weird. I mean, I love sausage sticks as much as the next person, but why are they in my purse? And, how did they fit in there?
And, a gallon of milk? I must have been thirsty from the sausage sticks. No wonder why my purse always feels so freaking heavy.
So there you have it. The contents of my purse. I guess my purse is bigger than it looks. Note to self: Must remember to clean purse out more often.

Yes, odd indeed. Well, who doesn't love oranges in all their sweet, juicy glory? Can you blame me?
Next, I was tagged by Krissy at Firecracker Mom and Elaine at The Miss Elaine-ous Life for the middle name meme. My middle name is Mary. Yes, I know. I'm very Catholic.
M- Met hubby on the 4th of July (one of my FAVORITE holidays) at a party. I, literally, saw fireworks the day we met.
A- Awoke way too early this morning.
R- Reading "Love in the Time of Cholera" right now.
Y- Yodels in the shower. Not really, but I couldn't think of anything else that starts with a Y.
Keeping it moving now...
I was tagged by Chrissy at Tales From The Carpool Lane for the 6 quirky things meme.
1- When we were first married I refused to pee in front of my hubby. I would not do it. I would hold my pee until my bladder exploded if I had to, but I would not relieve myself in front of him. No way. Then, when I was in labor with Joey, Todd watched me crap all over the delivery room table and a tiny human being squirted out of my body. After that I figured, "Oh, what the hell."
2- I am coo-coo for cocoa puffs when it comes to setting an alarm clock. It really used to freak Todd out. I had two alarm clocks. One was a regular, plug in the wall, alarm clock with red numbers. I would set that clock for approximately 9 minutes before I had to get up. Then, I would flip the alarm setting to ON, and check the time again. Then check it again. And again. And then again. Check. Check. Check-check-check. Then I would set another battery operated alarm clock across the room to go off approximately a half an hour after the first alarm clock sounded. I would turn the alarm setting to ON, and check the time again. Then check it again. And again. And then again. Check. Check. Check-a-dee, check, check, check. Finally, I would crawl into bed and lay my head on my pillow. My arm would reach out from under the covers and check, check, check-check-check again. It drove Todd nuts. Obviously. But ask me how many times I was late for work. NEVER. So there! Luckily, I don't have to set an alarm clock anymore, and Todd won't even allow the clock on my side of the bed.

3- One of my favorite words is tomfoolery. HAHAHA!!!! It always makes me laugh.
4- My least favorite word is moist. It just sounds disgusting. Ugh.
5- I love writing, but my spelling is atrocious, and my punctuation is all over the place. Sometimes, I am so far off on the spelling of a word that spell check doesn't even know what I am trying to write. It's pretty bad. I'm sure you have also noticed that I use far too many exclamation marks. I use them all the time. Commas, too. It used to drive my writing professor crazy. I like to add commas where I want a pause in the sentence. I know this is incorrect, and unnecessary, but I want people to read my writing the way I hear it in my head. I'm sure I probably drive all of you writing teachers mad. Sorry.
6- I know I have already written about the fact that I eat all veggies raw but none of them cooked. I know that is strange. But even stranger is the fact that I will not eat cooked corn, but I love, love, LOVE corn on the cob. I know, I know. Cu-CKOO!!
Yep. That settles it. I'm officially nuts-o. Thanks, Chrissy.

A Mix
I realize I have been neglecting to participate in a couple of the meme's that I have been tagged for, and pass on a few awards that I received, so I thought I'd better buckle down and tackle them today.
First, the awards.
I received the Kind Blogger Award from Laskigal at From the Cheap Seats. She is one of my favorite bloggers and I just lub her. And, I love this award. I think kindness is underrated in today's society. Sometimes it is difficult to balance being kind and being as sarcastic as I am, but I'm trying. I don't know how kind I actually am, but it is definitely something I strive to be. I might be kind some days, and a complete bag other days, but I will gladly take the award anyway. hehe Thank you, Laskigal!
I would like to pass this award on to Momof4girls at The Red Door. She is definitely a kind person. She always has such a sunny disposition and sweet, loving posts. I love to visit her blog and get my dose of pink from her four beautiful girls.

I am passing it on to Melissa at Such Simple Pleasures. She recently started another blog that is to designed to help comfort children who have so little. I love her big heart. Please go on over to Project Lovey and see if you can join the project.

****************************************************************
Okay, on to the meme's. I have done meme's here, here, here, and here. Go ahead and read them. You know you wanna! Don't make me copy and paste all of that for nothing, peeps!
I was tagged by Elaine and The Miss-Elaine-ous Life with this next meme. The idea is to post a picture of your fridge so everyone can see what kind of crap you have on it. I must say that I did not alter my fridge at all. It is kind of shocking, actually. My fridge is never this tidy. I usually have a million and one pieces of the boys' artwork hanging off of it, but a few weeks ago I did a thorough sweep of the house and rid myself of all Christmas items. Gone with the sweep was all of the artwork on the fridge. Although, I did not throw them out. They are tucked safely away. I assumed that Joey would bring home some Valentine's artwork from school, but he didn't. And for some reason we never got around to making any at home. So, here it is. My boring fridge.
A bunch of magnets. A picture of Jesus. The boys' pictures. A Packers schedule. A gym membership card. And the pediatrician's number. That's it. That is all she wrote.
What about you? What is on your fridge?
**************************************************************
On to the next meme. I was tagged by Jewelgirl for the 6 Unimportant Things meme. Jewelgirl has an amazing site showing her huge jewelry collection. It is fabulous, and so is she! You must go and see her. Plus, she is my sis-in-law, and I lub her. :)
Okay. 6 Unimportant Things about me.
1) One of my nicknames is K-Lo. Yes, as in J-Lo. I would like to say it is because I am a fabulous dancer (which I think I am, thankyouverymuch), but it is not. It is because I have a bit of junk in my trunk. Okay, maybe a bunch of junk in my trunk. One might even classify it as a ghetto bootie. Whatever. I'm fine with it. Kinda. I have small everything else, just a bigger bootie. And it isn't huge, just a bit out of proportion for me. And when I am running the bootie shrinks to a normalish size. So there. But, let's just say, for example, that it is winter, and I am eating more than usual, and not running, perhaps, then maybe it would get a bit out of control. Maybe. It's fine. Really. Call me K-Lo if you like. Or not. Maybe just Kat. Whatever.
2) I am in the process of growing my hair out. I had hair down to the middle of my back (so pretty) and I chopped it off up to my ears. It was a cute cut. I liked it for a while. And then I remembered that I ALWAYS feel much better with longer hair. And now I hate it. I have instructed my hubby to duct tape me to a chair if I should ever feel like chopping off all of my hair again.
3) I used to be a very good singer and dancer. My friends were always trying to get me to try out for American Idol when it first came out. I just never wanted to be famous, not that I thought I had a chance anyway. I had enough fun being in plays and musicals in the area. I would even sing Ella Fitzgerald songs at a jazz club sometimes. I think one of my biggest compliments came when my hubby finally heard Ella singing the song I always sang to him at the jazz club (Someone to Watch Over Me) and said, "I think you sing it better. Your voice is so much warmer." I couldn't believe it. Ella is tops! No one is warmer than her! But I took the compliment anyway and will never forget it. Wow.
As for dancing, I only took ballet for a few months before I started going with my friend to her ballet class. Everyone in her class had been taking ballet and modern dance for 10-12 years and I kept up. I was amazed at myself. Pretty cool. Although, I always loved freestyle the best and thought that was what I was really good at. I've always had this strange ability to see a dance once and then be able to copy it.
I still love to sing and dance, but I am out of practice. Maybe someday I'll get into it again. I would love my hubby and my boys to see me as a lead in a musical again.
4) It is really hard for me to say what I am good at or give myself any compliments. Just writing the above makes me extremely uncomfortable. I have erased it and rewritten it about 4 times now. Eek! I'm still wondering if I should erase it. I think I may have nightmares tonight if I leave it up.
5) I believe in ghosts. I have had 3 or 4 experiences that scared the crap out of me. The first experience was when I was about 8 years old. The last experience was when I was 25. I will definitely have to write about those some other time. Very creepy. My hubby and I are obsessed with watching ghost shows. We love Ghost Hunters but we love Paranormal State even more. So good. Of course, after we are done watching them I am so creeped out that I make my hubby walk around the house with me while I'm getting ready for bed. hehe
6) My 100th post is coming up. I believe this is number 98. I REALLY don't want to write the 100 things about me meme. I mean really. Does anyone want to know 100 things about me? I am really not that interesting. Plus, everyone else is doing it. And the minute someone tells me that I have to do something or "everyone else is doing it" it makes me NOT want to do it. I'm still on the fence about it.
So there. There it all is. I'm not gonna tag anyone, but I would like to hear any ghostie experiences you've had, or anything else you would like to share. Thanks, y'all!
K-Lo.
I mean, Kat!

You're Gonna Read It, And Like It!
I was tagged again. Hahaha!!! I know you are probably all very sick of reading the meme's I have written, but they are fun, so I'm doing another one. If you are up for some cruel and unusual punishment you can read my other meme's here, here, and here.
This tag is the "7 interesting things" meme and comes from GirlyMom at The Red Door. I find her fun and entertaining, so go check her out.
1- I still keep a written journal. You know, the kind you write in with an actual pen on actual paper? I have kept a journal since I was in third grade and will most likely continue to do so until I die.
2- I have two completely unreasonable fears. The first one is clowns. I don't like not being able to see some one's face. It really freaks me out. I suppose watching the movie "IT" didn't help either. When I worked at a bank a woman there worked as a clown on the side. One night she changed into her clown outfit before she left work and came in my office. I crawled under my desk and was very close to peeing my pants.
The second one is sharks. It may not sound like an unreasonable fear, but give me a minute. I am always afraid to swim in the ocean (not so unreasonable) and had a VERY frightening experience snorkeling on my honeymoon in Mexico. I'll save that story for another time. The unreasonable part comes when I tell you that when I swim laps at the YMCA I am constantly thinking about a shark attacking me and which way would be the fastest way out of the pool. ??? In a pool! With chlorine! Inside of a building! With other people swimming with me! Crazy, right? Yeah, I know. I'm a freak.
3- I married a man who is almost exactly like my Dad. So strange. Both are renaissance men, can fix anything, were very good football players, sing, are hunters, have quick tempers, are big jokers, hard-working, reliable, intelligent, quick-witted, are very out-going, can make friends anywhere, are the go-to-guy in any situation, are very compassionate, kind, and have big, delicate egos. My mom and I (who are very much alike as well) laugh about it all the time. Freud would love me.
4- I hate being cold. I am always cold. I am cold right now. My house is 70 degrees Fahrenheit and I am wearing a tee shirt, sweatshirt, jeans, socks, and slippers, and I am freezing. I hate being cold.
5- I have a tattoo and I am thinking of getting another one. My bro is a tattoo artist and does amazing work. It is a slippery slope, getting another tattoo. It becomes addicting, and I don't want to be the "Amazing Tattoo Lady" with them all over my body. Maybe I'll just stick with one. Hmmm.
6- I have super duper long toes. I mean long. I could probably learn to play piano with my toes. I used to be self-conscious about my toes, and would never wear sandals. Now I don't really care. At least I have toes, right? And, maybe that is why I have such good balance. ;)
7- I would love to be a doula or midwife someday. I am completely fascinated and amazed by the whole birth process. I think it would be amazing to watch a new little soul enter the world for a living.
So, there ya go. Some more facts about me. Are ya sick of me yet? I am.

Seven Random Things Meme
I have been tagged for the "seven random things" meme by The Dragonfly. I have done this one here and another one like it here, but I like doing these things, so you are gonna have to suffer through another one. Besides, I know you are all just dying to know 7 more weird things about me. ;)
Here are the rules:
1 - Link to the person who tagged you and post the rules on your blog.
2 - Share seven random and/or weird things about yourself.
3 - Tag seven random people at the end of your post and include links to their blogs.
4 - Let each person know that they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.
**********************************
1) I change my hairstyle and color all the time. My hair has been black, brown, red, reddish brown, blond, dark brown, strawberry blond, dishwater blond, chestnut brown and any other color on the spectrum. My hair has also been super duper long, super duper short, and everywhere in between. I am most comfortable with long hair, but I get bored with myself and chop it all off. I think my natural color is dishwater blond/brown. Oh, and this is weird, but my hair has always been wavy and I wear it straight most of the time, but I've noticed that every time I have another child it gets curlier.
2) Becoming a mom has turned me into a coward. I used to love flying, and now every time I get on an airplane I white-knuckle the armrests hoping the plane won't take a nose-dive and leave my children motherless. I used to ski with reckless abandon, and now I take the easiest trails so I don't break a leg making it impossible for me to chase after my rugrats. I used to love the thought of going skydiving, and now I sweat just thinking about it. My life just seems infinitely more important now that I have these little creatures that depend on me. I hope I have not become an incredible bore to my hubby.
3) I am a worst case scenario person. Can you tell from the above? I am always thinking about how to save my babies from a fire, a robber, a tornado, a car crash, a fall off a jungle gym, or a trip down the stairs. I constantly worry something bad will happen to my children. It is kind of exhausting. My mom swears that it is because my sister died when she was 9 (it happened before I was born but I grew up hearing about her), and that I've always known even little kids are not immune to death. I don't know, maybe I'm just a worrier.
4) My nicknames are Kathy, Kat, Katie-bug, K, Schmoopee and Pooper. The last two are from Seinfeld. My hubby and I thought that was such a funny episode that we started using those nicknames, and they stuck. My family has always called me Kathy, but they are the only ones who still do. I introduce myself as Kathryn (since high school) to everyone I meet. Kat is used the most often.
5) Remember that old couple in When Harry Met Sally who tell their story of how they lived in the same town and never met until they were vacationing in another state? That is just like my hubby and I. We grew up in the same town a few miles apart, played at the same parks, went to the same high school (5 years apart), and attended the same churches. We met in a city 70 miles from our hometown when he was living in New York and I lived just outside of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. And both of our parents still live in the same houses we grew up in and we live within 2 miles of both of them.
6) I am already planning when we can have child #4. I know, I'm crazy. I just can't help it. I would have 6 kids if I could talk hubby into it. As it is, I am going to have some convincing to do to get him to agree to 4. I am from a family with 6 kids so 3 still seems so small to me.
7) I can throw a really good spiral. That's American football for all you Europeans out there. ;)
Okay, now I have to pass this on. I think I might just take the easy way out again seeing as how people seem to get stressed out when they get tagged. Anyone who wants to play along let me know in the comments and I'll put your link up so everyone can see you are a good sport. :)

Saved By the Mum
The Flying Mum has tagged me for the 4 Things meme, and it couldn't have come at a better time. I was having a difficult time deciding what to post today and I had it narrowed down between the strange orange color of Benny's poo, or how I looked like a slobbering Saint Bernard with snot flying out of my nose during my run today. So, my dear readers (all 5 of you), I would run on over (ok, click on over) to The Flying Mum right now and give her your thanks.
4 Jobs I've Had
1- I was a Utility Clerk (fancy name for a bagger of groceries and a straightener of shelves) at a grocery store.
2- I was a Cashier at a large Midwest chain hardware store.
3- I was the lead female role in a very small independent movie when I was in my mid-twenties. It was hardly seen by anyone, but I did get paid for it, so I am counting it as a real job as it makes me seem cooler than I actually am. And all you dirties out there, it wasn't THAT kind of movie! Paris Hilton I am not.
4- I was in the banking industry for about 8 years. I started out as a Customer Service Rep. (teller), and made my way to the loan department where I became a loan processor, loan officer, and underwriter. After that I was the manager and supervisor of my branch. This was a very strange job for me because A) I hate math and numbers, B) banking does not interest me in the least, and C) I have Dyslexia, and no one ever knew it. Suckers!
4 Movies I Would Watch Over and Over
This is difficult for me to say because I am a BIG fan of movies. Big fan!
1- Love Actually. Soooo good. I have to watch it at least 3 or 4 times every Christmas season.
2- Swingers. The fact that they made that movie on what most movies productions spend on food service makes it even better.
3- Splendor in the Grass. Such an awesome classic that not many people have seen. Natalie Wood and Warren Beatty (I believe it was his first movie). Hello???
4- Lord of the Rings- any of them. I know, I am such a weird girl sometimes. Nerdy, might be the right word.
4 TV Shows I Like
1- The Office. This is the ONE show that I CAN NOT miss each week. Me loves it. The writers are amazing, the characters are hilarious, and the acting is fab. Me likey long time.
2- Grey's Anatomy. Used to not like it because the first show I saw was really sleazy. However, I am a sucker for medical shows and gave it another shot. It is entertaining, and I get my medical fix, so for now I give it a thumbs up.
I'm going back in time for the next two.
3- Friends is the ultimate show. I grew up with those Friends. When the last show aired I bawled like a baby. Worse actually.
4- ER. Ohhhh. Best medical show ever. I really miss the days with Dr. Greene and Dr. Carter. I still watch the show faithfully, but it is starting to loose its luster. Hopefully they will make another comeback. I mean, the show has been on the air for a million years, you're bound to have some dud seasons.
4 Places I've Gone on Vacation
1- London
2- Paris
3- Cancun, Mexico
4- Wales
Loved 'em all!
4 Foods I Love
Man, where do I begin?
1- Steak and Shrimp Fajitas. Mmmmm.
2- Salmon Steak with Soy Glaze at my favorite local restaurant. Yum in my tum!
3- White Chocolate Chip and Macadamia Nut Cookies. My own personal recipe, thank you.
4- Broasted Chicken. I don't know what it is about me and broasted chicken lately, but I think about it all the time. Very strange.
4 Web Sites I Visit Daily
Honestly, I don't go to too many websites on a daily basis. I guess I'll just do the 4 websites that I go to more than others. ??
1- Weather.com
2-People.com
3- Babycenter.com Actually, I don't even go there anymore since they changed it all around. Made me mad. I can't find anything anymore. Grrr.
4- Um. Um. I honestly can't think of any more. My blog, I guess?
4 Places I'd Rather Be
1- On a warm, sunny, tropical beach somewhere. It doesn't really matter where, I'm not picky.
2- A tiny little bistro in Paris.
3- Watching a fabulous production at the Barbican Theatre in London.
4- Asleep in my bed.
4 Bloggers I'm Tagging
Ok, I know just about everyone has done this, so once again, I am taking the easy way out. The first 4 people to comment can consider themselves tagged. Don't let that keep you from commenting, you don't HAVE to do it if ya don't want to. :)

4 Bloggers I'm Tagging
Ok, I know just about everyone has done this, so once again, I am taking the easy way out. The first 4 people to comment can consider themselves tagged. Don't let that keep you from commenting, you don't HAVE to do it if ya don't want to. :)

All about me
I have been tagged by Painted Maypole for the "7 random things" meme. Yeah! This is my first tag, and I feel honored that it was she who tagged me. Thank you!
Ok, here it goes:
1- I love vegetables, but I can't eat any of them cooked. It must be a texture thing, I just can't stomach them. Fresh, forget about it. I'm all over it. Love fresh peas! Asparagus! Mmmm. Carrots, red peppers, you name it. Love 'em! Cook them up for me, and I'm puking. Which is actually ok because they loose some of their vitamins if you cook them, right? Right?
2- In my early 20's I was in 4 or 5 musicals/plays a year in one of the theater companies in the area. It was a great passion of mine. I love singing, dancing, and acting, although my acting is not as good as my singing and dancing. That is probably why I always got the romantic lead, not the more difficult roles. I always wanted to play the prostitute, the bad girl, the antagonist, but no. Ah well. My dream role would be Fantine in Les Mis. Ohhhh. Anyway, even though I was constantly on stage, my husband has never seen me in a show. I did all of that before I met him. He has seen me sing on stage, but not in a play or musical. I am vowing that someday when I have more free time (or any) I'll be in another show.
3- Our little bathroom remodel project is STILL going on after 5 weeks. That is all I'm going to say about that.
4- I love little baby bodies. From the tiny dimples on their hands and elbows, the nape of their neck so soft and kissable, to little round tummies. Love 'em. My favorite part? The teeny, tiny toes on the ittle, wittle feet. And not just any feet. Stinky little piggy feet. How can a baby have such stinky, sour pigs? It isn't as if they just got back from a long run, or working out at the gym. Why such stinkies? I don't care. I love 'em. Wanna bite the sassy little stinky feet.
5- I have never understood people who want to be famous. Being famous has never appealed to me. I would hate to be followed, stalked, and have my every move watched. I love my anonymity. Plus, having lots of money would make me nervous. I would never feel as if I was giving enough. I couldn't live in a huge mansion when I know there are children who don't even have a meal to eat. I struggle with that now, and I am FAR from rich.
6- When I was very little and someone would ask what I wanted to be when I got older I would always say, "I want to be a mom". I am so lucky. :)
7- I am really not that interesting. This meme has taken for FOREVER!
The first seven people who comment can consider themselves tagged. No pressure. If you want to do it great, if not that is fine too. I know almost everyone has already done this at least once.

I've decided to try my hand at the Monday Mission that The Flying Mum has posted. I am a Superstar and this is what the tabloids are saying about me:
Surely this will be the last time the Academy recognizes Kathryn for her work as it is her third straight Oscar win and she has yet to attend the award show. Kathryn was noticeably absent from last night's show just as she said she would be. The star released a statement a week before the show saying, "While I appreciate being nominated by the Academy I am choosing to stay home from the ceremony to spend time with my family. It is nice to be recognized, but in truth, I feel ridiculous receiving an award for getting to play 'make believe' for a living. Awards should be given out to people who are searching for ways to cure cancer, to single moms working to support their families, to people who stand for 10 hours in a row while working factory jobs, to parents who take care of children with disabilities or terminal illnesses and for spouses who lovingly take care of their soul mates who have Alzheimer's. Again, thank you for noticing my work, but really it is not necessary. Oh, and I'll still take the goody bag. Thank you."

Words To Live By
Be grateful for each new day.
A new day that you have never lived before.
Twenty-four new, fresh, unexplored hours to use usefully and profitably.
We can squander, neglect, or use them.
Life will be richer or poorer by the way we use today.
Finish every day and be done with it.
You have done what you could;
some blunders and absurdities crept in;
forget them as soon as you can.
Tomorrow is a new day.
You shall begin it well and serenely and with too high a spirit to be
encumbered with your old nonsense.
-Ralph Waldo Emerson
