Doggone Valentine's Day!

I get it. I know that Valentine's Day is nine months before November, but come on people! Can't you conceive at any other time than Valentine's Day? I know approximately 20 people with November birthdays. Two of my brothers, two of my niece's, eight friends, my dad, my MIL, my best friend's son, a few cousins. I'm going bonkers trying to keep them all straight. And I'm going broke too! It is insanity.

I realize Valentine's Day is the most romantic holiday and all. But what about January? You know, the holidays are over, there is nothing to do. Make a baby then! Or what about March? Spring is coming closer, the weather is getting nicer. How about a baby then! Or April! Yay, April! Or any other month, for that matter. Just not February, okay?

I think I should start circulating a petition for no more conceptions in February. Can I do that? You want to sign it?

Hmmm.

ha ha ha. Adam is a V-day (well, close) Bday. We had been trying since November, however, so.... It wasn't really planned for him to be conceived around that time! We just didn't think we'd get pregnant, so we didn't stop in February. Maybe we should have??

I promise not to get pregnant in February - since I'll be about six months along then! And since this is the last cake this oven will bake, I'm pretty sure the rest of the February's will be safe too :) I know a lot of November birthdays too!!!

I never even thought about that...and I was born on November 13th! Ok...I'm going to work really hard to get *that* mental picture out of my head...

I never realized that. We have a lot of Nov. Birthdays in our family and now I think I know why. Everyone was getting busy on Valentines(all of them are between Nov. 20th and Nov.28th...one after the other)

I have a sister-in-law who has four kids. All of their birthdays are within three weeks of each other, in March. I can't help but wonder, what is so romantic about August?
I'll sign your petition. Of course, we're not conceiving at all anymore, so maybe I shouldn't have a vote.

Thank you, by the way, for the very kind mention on Saturday.

Only a couple November birthdays in our family. My youngest was born on Valentine's Day.

I think they say that most babies are born in September because of too much champagne on New Year's Eve! Your November is my December, but I guess it's all my fault, I must have preferred March ;-)

haha every family seems to have its month. Ours is March here. :)

I seem to know a lot of folks with February birthdays. Something about the end of the school term?

BTW, I just tagged you to do a photo game if you're willing.

Oh my gosh, you are sooo right, we have been invited to so many stinking birthdays this month. I am constantly at Target buying gifts. So much so, that I penciled it in my planner for next year. "BUY GIFTS ON SALE."

Our three were born in June, July and August, and our birthdays are in May and June. We never gave much thought to when they would be born. When we decided we would have another one, that was it.

Yeah, the are a lot of November B-Days in my family including me. One of my best friend's birthday is too. Funny, I never thought about the fact that it is 9 months after Valentine's Day. I guess I like the summer because my babies have all been born in the spring.

We had NINE of us pregnant at the same time at our church. Since then, one more has gotten pregnant, too. I'm with you on the growing broke thing, too. Those nine women were all my closest friends, too! Here's to spreadin' the love throughout the year!!!

People in my area tend to get pregnant during the winter. It gets dark early and, since we're in the Central Time Zone, all the good TV shows are over by 10:00 p.m. *grin*

Oh that is too funny! I only know three people with bdays in November - yay! :-)

mmm, if those conceived in february are conceived out of romance, does that mean the rest of us were conceived out of lust?

and what about us who were birthed in february, does that say we were birthed out of a romantic notion?

ha ha! My family is a little slow, I guess they celebrated in March. We're inundated with December birthdays. Yeah, Christmas and multiple b-days. FUN!

Kelley said...

heh heh! I have a son born in November. I never thought about the fact that he was conceived around Valentine's Day. I'll sign your petition, though it's a moot point now that I have no intention of having any more kiddos. Four is enough for me.

Hospitals are busy in September too 9 months after Christmas, New Years Eve and Day :)

Words To Live By

Be grateful for each new day.
A new day that you have never lived before.
Twenty-four new, fresh, unexplored hours to use usefully and profitably.
We can squander, neglect, or use them.
Life will be richer or poorer by the way we use today.
Finish every day and be done with it.
You have done what you could;
some blunders and absurdities crept in;
forget them as soon as you can.
Tomorrow is a new day.
You shall begin it well and serenely and with too high a spirit to be
encumbered with your old nonsense.

-Ralph Waldo Emerson
