"Thank You For Your Service"

As the veterans walked passed us proudly holding the American flag the boys shouted, "Thank you for your service!"

Today is a wonderful day to take time and thank our servicemen and women for all they have given and sacrificed for us and our great country. But I hope that we don't need a special day to say "thank you". I hope we take any and every opportunity to show our support and appreciation to those that serve in our military and their families.

If you have a moment please read this. It is a great glimpse into the life of a soldier.

And to all our veterans, those that are currently serving in our military, and all the strong, supportive military families, "THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE!"

So thankful for their service, but at the same time so selfishly happy it's not my family. Not proud of that.

Wonderful! I am so proud to be an American.

I love the new header picture!!! I hadn't seen it b/c the blog pictures are blocked at work. So I hadn't been able to stop by in awhile.

A wonderful post. And yes, I am thankful everyday that I am safe, my husband is safe, my kids are safe, and we live in the land of freedom and opportunity. I have too many friends I have prayed for and are praying for that they just make it home. And thanks to them and their families who have made the sacrifice, we all sleep peacefully at night.

Obviously I can't speak for all military families, but I know that our family appreciates the support.

Words To Live By

Be grateful for each new day.
A new day that you have never lived before.
Twenty-four new, fresh, unexplored hours to use usefully and profitably.
We can squander, neglect, or use them.
Life will be richer or poorer by the way we use today.
Finish every day and be done with it.
You have done what you could;
some blunders and absurdities crept in;
forget them as soon as you can.
Tomorrow is a new day.
You shall begin it well and serenely and with too high a spirit to be
encumbered with your old nonsense.

-Ralph Waldo Emerson
