In A Little While

In a little while I will see you for the very first time.
I'll see you kick and move,
Roll and bounce.
I'll see how straight your spine is,
How strong your heart beats.
I'll see your ten fingers
and your ten toes.
And though I am already incredibly bonded to you
seeing you will make that bond so much stronger.

Your mama is a worrier.
I worry about you, my baby.
I pray that you are strong and healthy,
happy, safe, and cozy.
And I pray that God makes me
the perfect mama for you.
To be strong, capable, and accepting
No matter who you are
Or what your strengths and weaknesses are.
I already love you with all my heart.

And I can't wait to see you,
In a little while.

Sweet poem. There's nothing like seeing them on the ultrasound- other than seeing them in person! It just reminds you that they truly are little miracles. Hoping you both are healthy and happy.

Thank you for sharing that poem. It captures so much of what I felt and still feel with my own children. There is nothing like a baby to teach you to feel love that is both instantaneous and complete. I wish you every blessing. - Julia

Today's the day-- I really thought there was going to be a big reveal in this so I read too quickly. The second time--oh, you just made me broody. What a wonderful time. It doesn't help that I spent an hour holding my friend's week-old baby tonight.

I am so thrilled for you, I can feel your anticipation!
Should I come back again later, or are you making us sweat it out? (it is nearly midnight, I have to go to bed sometime). :-)

Yay for little girls!

I've been reading your blog for quite awhile (I'm a good friend of FireHunt) and don't think I've ever left a comment.

...Anyways :-) I'm very happy for you! Girls are a lot of fun!

Words To Live By

Be grateful for each new day.
A new day that you have never lived before.
Twenty-four new, fresh, unexplored hours to use usefully and profitably.
We can squander, neglect, or use them.
Life will be richer or poorer by the way we use today.
Finish every day and be done with it.
You have done what you could;
some blunders and absurdities crept in;
forget them as soon as you can.
Tomorrow is a new day.
You shall begin it well and serenely and with too high a spirit to be
encumbered with your old nonsense.

-Ralph Waldo Emerson
