Okay, okay. It has been a long time since I've been to bloggyland. But I have good excuses. See?
13- The Post Holiday Crash. After the rush of the holidays was over my whole family hit a wall. We all just kind of lied around staring off into space. A mix of exhaustion and depression. It all just went too fast. We all crashed. Big time.
12- The Post Holiday Vomit. Included in that crash was a lot of vomit. On the first day that Tommy did not vomit, Joey did. I was busy following my boys around with a big bucket held under their faces. That was fun.
11- Cuddly Family Time. For the past two weeks Todd had most of the days off of work. We spent much of the time doing fun family stuff and snuggling on the couch. The boys have been so snuggly with me that I couldn't bear to pull myself away from them.
10- Full-Swing Symptoms. Remember when I said I was feeling pretty good as far as this pregnancy goes? Yeah. Well. That is over. The nausea is fairly constant, although I haven't thrown up yet. I just feel really icky all the time. It is hard to think of foods that don't make me want to puke.
9- Unbelievable Exhaustion. When I'm not feeling nauseous I feel like I'm going to pass out. I am so tired all the time. Every spare moment I have I am lying on the couch trying to catch some zzz's.
8- Basement Aversion. Because I either have nausea or exhaustion every moment of the day it is really difficult to motivate myself to go down to the cold basement and sit on the computer for longer than 2 minutes. It is dark and cold and yucky down here. I don't like it.
7- Smelly Smells. The one thing that is different about this pregnancy than my other pregnancies is my sense of smell. I can smell EVERYTHING and it doesn't smell good. I can smell the cinnamon (which makes me sick) in a cookie that someone is eating in the next room. I can smell the sausage on Todd's breath from the sandwich he had two days ago. I open the fridge and I can smell the celery that may or may not be going bad. Ugh. My mom came over and I could smell her Vaseline Intensive Care lotion she had put on her hands hours ago even though she was wearing gloves. And the basement smells like dust. It kinda makes me sick. Another reason I am avoiding the basement. Where the computer is.
6- Schedule? What Schedule? After lolling around most mornings during the holidays and doing whatever we wanted during the day I have had a hard time getting back into the boys' school schedule. Getting them fed, dressed, and out the door in time for school has been nuts. Add to that the grocery shopping, visiting my dad, and then picking them both up on time and I am nuts. I have been running around like a chicken with my head cut off. How did I do this before? It is taking me a while to remember how it all works.
5- Twilight Obsession. The hubby bought me the Twilight Series for Christmas and I am reading in my spare time. Although I am reading Twilight again first (cuz Todd went with hardcover and all the New Moon hardcovers were gone so I am waiting for the bookstore to get that copy in for me) I can't believe how much I either missed or don't remember about reading it the first time. So when I do have an ounce of energy I'm reading cuz I can do that upstairs on the couch where it is warm and doesn't smell of dust.
4- Camera Lust. Todd also got me a Nikon D60 for Christmas. I loves it. It is so wonderful. I can take pictures without a flash and the pictures are not all blurry! I still have so much to learn about it so when I'm not nauseous, exhausted, sleeping, or reading, I am fiddling around with my camera.
3- Children. Man these kids suck up a lot of my time. Why did no one ever tell me how time consuming children were? Sheesh! ;)
2- Tired. Did I mention I'm always exhausted?
1- Nausea. Did I mention I'm always nauseous? Ugh.
So there you have it. The thirteen reasons for my absence. I know I have been an awful bloggy friend. Last I checked I have over 1000 posts to read. I'm so sorry. I will get around to reading your posts again (maybe not the thousand you already wrote, though). Really I will. I miss you all (and thank you for checking on me too!). I just feel so icky and any energy I can muster is being used to take care of my wild and crazy children. Ridiculous, isn't it?

Oh sweet Kat. Bless your heart.
I was wondering where you were, and kind of afraid that might be what it was.
{hugs}
Darn children and darn that nausea crap. LOL.
You actually have good reasons. I've been missing a lot longer and I really have no excuse except I've been in a foul mood.
Take care. Hope the sickness and icky smells get better soon.
Ugh. I feel your pain, mama. Minus the preggo feelings! :) Glad you're back! Enjoy those Twilight books; they rock!
Why is your computer in the basement? Anywhoo I had that insane sense of smell while I was pregnant and I wish I could say it went away after I had the baby, but it didn't. It drives my husband crazy. He just has to walk in the house and I ask how many onions did you eat?
Oh, Kat, I know EXACTLY how you are feeling right now. You just accurately described my life a little over a year ago, right down to the three boys. I cannot begin to express how grateful I am that I'm never going to do that again and how sorry I am that you are feeling so terrible. I'm not sure it's any consolation since you are in the thick of it to say that the end result is terrific. Is it? I wish I could make you feel better. I remember just wanting to die from nausea and exhaustion. Hang in there.
Hope you feel better soon. I hated those nausea days and the smells...I am sure they will get better.
This is exactly why I have not been able to bring myself to try to get pregnant again. I feel just like that for the entire 9 months.
I sure hope you are feeling better soon. Do you usually feel better after your first trimester?
I'm glad all is okay...I was wondering as well. And perhaps the next large present should be a laptop with wireless service, so you don't have to go into the cold, dusty, stinky basement anymore ;-)
You have been missed. Illness, nausea and exhaustion are not a fun mix!
I'll be here when you are able to come back!
I had that exhaustion with Jason. It's so hard and overwhelming. There were also certain smell aversions I developed then that bothered me for years afterwards. I hope it's not that way for you. I hope you feel much better soon.
Cuddly family time sounds wonderful. :)
Take care.
Poor you. I remember that horrid combo of nausea and heightened sense of smell. It'll pass and you'll feel great again, even though it feels never ending. Indulge yourself.. blogging can wait. :)
I'm glad you posted---I was just thinking of you this morning and that it had been awhile since you posted. I've been reading blogs but haven't posted much myself. Too tired and not much exciting going on. Sorry you've had to deal with so much vomit, especially when your tired and nauseous yourself. Hopefully this stage will pass quickly for you!! That pregnancy sense of smell is an amazing thing isn't it? I mean really, what's the point?? Why does your body need to do that to you?? It drove me crazy and the wierdest smells would get to me.
Hang in there. Those first few months can be brutal. I hope you are feeling better soon!
Robyn- Our basement has a little playroom, a bathroom, tv area and sitting area and that is where we keep our computer. It is not a fancy basement by any means, but it has served it's purpose. Still, it is a basement, and it is dark and cold. And for some reason even though it is not dusty it smells like dust. Blech.
Kelley and Scrappy- I feel bad even complaining about the nausea. It isn't debilitating the way some women have it. I can still eat. I haven't even vomited. But it is just enough to make my stomach feel icky for the majority of the day. I can definitely handle it. And I still LOVE being pregnant.
Molly's Mom- YES! I would LOVE a laptop! Or the new house that we want. Plenty of room for a computer on the first floor. ;)
Thanks everyone for your good thoughts! It isn't too bad. Just enough to keep me from wanting to do much. I'm fine really. I'm sure by the second trimester I will be myself again. And believe it or not I still really enjoy being pregnant. :)
Thanks again!
I've missed you, and I'm just glad you are back and that you've been spending time enjoying family. Hope the nausea stuff passes. Doesn't sound like fun.
The nausea & exhaustion is brutal. I was there a year ago and could not stop puking. I hope it resolves soon! And I am so jealous of your Nikon D60!

I know EXACTLY how you are feeling right now That is how I am feeling also all the time. Not fun.
So glad you're back and hoping the nausea lets up soon!
Blessings!
Glad you are still kicking! I didn't know your computer was in the basement I think you need to move it :) Well at least you know the baby is doing good since you don't feel good.
Sorry about the icky sicky smelly yucks! Hope you start to feel better soon!
I can't wait to see all of your new pics with your cool camera!
I remember the heightened sense of smell... I made John stop using Irish Spring soap 'cause the smell used to make me nauseous. Even with the bar just sitting there in the bathroom. Crazy.
Get some rest and take care of yourself and your family! Hope you feel better soon!
I'm so sorry you've been feeling so badly! I missed you and was wondering if you were o.k. Take care of yourself. ;)
i just thought i was behind until i read your post! i have been sucked in by twilight and i got a new nikon too but at least i am not nauseous! poor thing! i hope you feel better soon!!!
I had that overly sensitive smell thing with my pregnancies, too. It was rough!
You got some sweet Christmas gifts. I'm glad you enjoyed your family time!
Been there -at least with the tired out feeling but I was lucky in that with all three of my pregnancies, I had no nausea! If it weren't for the fact there would have to be a special star in the east right now for me to be pregnant (way too old for that, plus celibacy kind of gets in the way too) considering how tired I am all the time though, I could almost think that might be what ails me these days.
But cheer up -this too will all pass -eventually. Unfortunately the thing that won't go away is all the extra work required by having those sweet, cuddly kids. But in the end, they are worth it.
Ugh. Sorry you're having such a tough time with the pregnancy nausea and smells... hopefully that will pass soon.
And I know exactly what you mean about the difficulties of getting back on schedule after being completely off schedule for a couple of weeks. Very painful.
Glad for the update, and my pregnancy with my first little girl was filled with a very sensitive sense of smell and a craving for fruit unlike anything I'd ever experienced!
I hope the exhaustion subsides soon!
It is good to hear from you!
Poor thing! I feel your pain. I remember the smelling thing--ooh bad.
Glad you're back though. Can you move the computer upstairs? Or maybe it's better down there. You need your rest!
I'm glad that everything is alright with the baby! That feeling sick stuff is tough. With the bean currently growing in my uterus I started feeling sick every day between 1 - 3 and it would last until I woke up the next morning. And I didn't get sick, but often felt like I'd feel much better if I could. Good news? I started feeling better between week 10 - 11. I still get grossed out by some stuff (ie, the #2's my girls produce - can barely handle wiping a tush, and that's a major part of my job description), but you know...all is good!
Read, rest & relax my friend!
I understand 8 or 10 of those reasons but really all I saw was #4--a D60!!! Are you kidding me? I am sooo jealous. My sweet wife also gave me a camera for Christmas that is a step up from my little point and shoot, but many steps from a D60. Your eye for photo-ops combined with all that technology will produce great pictures. And it takes time.
Oh, Kat! I wish I lived close to you!! I'd love to help you through this difficult time. Hang in there, sweetie. There is never a need to apologize for not blogging!! JMHO!!
New Year Blessings to you!
All good reasons--I remember being uber-sensitive to smells, too. Especially meat. The smell of cooking or cooked meat sent me running to the bathroom.
Click on Read All, my friend. Start fresh.
I had super smell powers with each pregnancy. SUCKS. My air conditioning at our first house made me puke every day...
Hope it passes for you.
Rebecca- Nope. Our house is pretty small. We have every square inch used up. The only spot for the computer is in the basement. The basement isn't really that bad. The boys love playing in it and I used to enjoy being down here watching tv (before that tv broke) but lately I can't stand it. I am just so tired and it is so dark down here (and colder than upstairs) that it makes me even sleepier. Plus the dust smell is getting to me. ;)
Hey, we did the vomit thing too!! Wasn't that fun? And that smell thing? THANK YOU. That's what I am like--all of the time. It wasn't like that until the last pregnancy and when it was over, the smell thing stayed. Look at the positives: You never have to set a kitchen timer again, you will know things are finished by the smell in the house. Your kids will never again be able to sneak candy past you. you.will.know.all.
The camera sounds AWESOME, can't wait to see some photos!!
I hope you're feeling better soon (before 215 days pass). *hugs*
Don't feel bad, not for a moment!
I was just there in the same boat and being so tired and nauseous takes everything out of you!
Smells, Oh the scents that make me ill, the fridge and cooking meat, ugh!
Hope you feel better in the next trimester, hugs!
fell better. i remember moving when I was preggers, and I would unpack a box and take a nap. i can't imagine doing it with 3 other kids, AND nausea!
Things will get back on track soon;) They always do...and remember your not alone on this journey called...life!
you are entirely excused. i am am amazed that between cleaning up kid puke and being morning sick you haven't hurled. you rest and snuggle all you need. we'll be here when you're ready.
Glad to "hear" from you - I was thinking about you yesterday!
Sorry you are in the "ick" stage and I can SO relate to the odor thing - I was the same way with both of my pregnancies.
Here's to a nice glass of Perrier (that always helped me anyway!) : )
I sort of have bloggy blah and everything else blah right now but hopefully things will sort themselves out and get on with the next few months...LOL Take care and loved your 13
I figured that had loads to do with you going awol. You just take care of you and the nudger - Never had an aversion to smells??? Does this mean pink and not blue??
Glad to see you're back into Twilight.
I've missed you! thanks for the update. Hope you're feeling less nauseous today.... Just think what the nausea means. It means baby's doing GREAT and getting all s/he needs.
I know, easier said than done. The nausea is awful. I'll never forget. So, just, here: ((HUGS))
Happy new year. FEEL WELL!
well...i hope everyone feels better...
and you feel better!!
happy new year!
Just take it easy! We will still be here when you get back.
And, I just finished my second read of the Twilight series and I was the same way. I guess I read them so fast that I missed a lot.
Pregnant? Three littles? A great husband? Wonderful life? I wasn't wondering where you were . . . I knew. Enjoy your life and don't bother apologizing for it. Blogging should be icing.
: D
No, not ridiculous at all. I have no idea how you even take care of three kids, a house, the shopping, and most importantly yourself and the baby that is on it's way!!!
I feel you, on so many of those. I've been fighting my own little post-holiday-crash. Our holiday vacation ended this Monday and I just can't get myself into gear and back on track.
This pregnancy was the first one that gave me nausea. It was AWFUL. So I definitely empathize. Oh, and the super-smells to go along with the nausea. UGH! I'm so glad that's over....I'll pray yours goes away quickly too!!!
Well, you know I can totally relate. Seriously. Take your time - and I also have that keen sense of smell. I can smell a dirty diaper from three rooms away! Gross.
Garlic and Onions would send me running to the bathroom when I was preggers. Daddy could pop the lid on the salsa and it would send me into wretching.
I love the twilight series too! Getting ready to start Eclipse and going to see the movie tonight. YAY!
Awww hope it gets better for you.
Kirst
I have been absent from Bloggyland for so long my own self. Congratulations on the pregnancy!!!! (not on the nausea. I hope that doesn't last long)
I'm hooked on the Twilight series as well. Had to slow down, ran through the first two books in 6 days total. I'm halfway through New Moon and pacing so I'm not dropping $10.99 every three days.
Danielle
and those are 13 reasons my bloggy-world has been a bit off kilter...no you!
Hang in there. HUGS!
Oh man do I remember the exhaustion. "mark all as read" and call it a day:) Feel better, and take it easy.
Take care of yourself and your family before worrying about us.. Take care and hope the feelings go away soon and you can enjoy the other parts of the pregnancy soon..
Vomit, new camera and Twilight??? Why in the world are you even blogging to update us???
Kat, I am just coming back to the blog as well for many of the same reasons- the sickness of pregnancy is not fun! Congratulations to you on Baby #4!! Are you feeling better? I am 7 weeks with Baby #5 and the sickness is setting in... ick! Hope all is well!
