Mother Moments

PhotoStory Friday
Hosted by Cecily and Lolli

So many times I feel like I am faking my way through motherhood.  I don't really know what I'm doing.  I just try and act like I do.  The fact that these four little people look to me and trust me to know what to do, how to act, what to believe in, still kind of leaves me breathless.

Other times nothing has ever felt more natural.

I can comfort him when he is hurt.  And though I may not be able to fix everything, a few kind words from me and a snuggle on my lap can make everything better.  What an amazing thing.  To be a mother.

(Waiting patiently for the doc to look at his poor broken arm)

What a trooper! I hope the break wasn't too bad. And I know what you mean about faking your way through sometimes.I would have had to put on a game face for dealing with a broken arm - that's for sure.

Aww poor guy! But you know, I don't think any of us really know what we're doing. I mean, I sure as heck don't! And it is amazing, how they don't care. They just want us to be there!

Sad to say I've been a Mommy for a LONG time, and I still feel like I'm faking it a lot of the time. :)

You're a great mom. Hope the arm heals up quickly.

Words To Live By

Be grateful for each new day.
A new day that you have never lived before.
Twenty-four new, fresh, unexplored hours to use usefully and profitably.
We can squander, neglect, or use them.
Life will be richer or poorer by the way we use today.
Finish every day and be done with it.
You have done what you could;
some blunders and absurdities crept in;
forget them as soon as you can.
Tomorrow is a new day.
You shall begin it well and serenely and with too high a spirit to be
encumbered with your old nonsense.

-Ralph Waldo Emerson
