You all know how I feel about it by now. There really isn't much more I can say on the subject that I haven't already said here and here.
I don't like letting go. Especially letting go of my babies. But let go I must. It is the way life goes.
(First day of 3rd, 4K, 1st, and 5th)
But I'm excited for them. New adventures, new experiences, learning and growing, making friends. I'm so proud of these little people I am sending out into the world. So proud. And so grateful.
Yes, this is the way it goes. I just wish it wouldn't go so quickly.

They are all so precious and sweet. Your 1st grader is the spitting image of your husband....Wow...I never noticed that before.
I was out and about town today and saw swarms of kids. Since this is my first year withOUT kids in the school district, I didn't know it was a day off. What the heck? They just started back two weeks ago!
I can't believe it's here for you already. I feel like the time that they are at school flies so quickly and before I know it, it's time for them to come home.
I hear you! It goes way too fast, all of it. I cannot believe how big your boys are getting, but then so are mine. And WHERE did our baby girls go? Geez...
I hope they have a wonderful school year!!
These are the FUN years, though. No naps, diapers, tantrums (at least not as many), sippy cups, car seats, strollers...wait, this list might backfire and make you sad again. I better stop now! Hugs, honey.
You have a beautiful family!! I hope they have a good first day.
You have such a beautiful little crew. You must be so enormously proud of those babies.
Quite a handsome crew. It's hard to watch them brow up and start to not need you, but such a blessing, too. Knowing you have and are doing your job right, getting them ready for the world. Just remember, they still need you. Probably always will. :)
Hey Kat :) watching ones kids grow is like watching the ebb and flow of the tides...magical... awe inspiring... relentless
Too fast! I can't stand how fast this time is going in our lives :(
I love that you are photo documenting yours the way I'm doing mine. Sure, they hate us now, but one day they will be thankful that we had that camera everywhere.
Jeri- HAHA! It is so funny that you mentioned how they hate us now for taking our cameras everywhere. I just made the kids come with me to the lake to take our annual Packer picture for the second day in a row. HA!
Of course, they know now that if they are well behaved and just do what I ask right away it is over with quicker and they get to play sooner and longer. Genius! ;)
Oh man. Seriously - I can only imagine how you're feeling with nobody at home...even if it's just a couple hours. Sometimes I'm ready, but right now I'm thankful for two (mostly) at home. :-)
Sorry it's been FOREVER since I've stopped by. Life.
They look freaking adorable.
And I'm all teary eyed because you are so right. It just flies by; in December I will have TWO adult children (18 & 20) and then in January my BABY turns 13. I can't even wrap my brain around all of that.
Gosh, I'm speechless, which is rare.
I suppose our differences are what makes the world interesting. I'm in the category of smiling when they go back to school - not that I don't want them home, but because we all get to do something different.
However, you and other Moms make me stop and think about how loved our children are and that they are growing up fast.
I hope you're getting big hugs and lots of chatter when they return home from school! :)
(Hate to tell you this, but there is a little soft porn in an advertisement on this post. Don't know if it's random, or if everyone sees it.)
I meant to add that the pictures are adorable!
(The ad is gone now and a laptop one is now featured. Hmmm...)
Anita- I hate to tell you this but the ads on my blog (or anywhere on the internet) search through your computer's memory to find advertising they think you might be interested in. I am definitely not saying that you have been looking at soft porn, but even if you've shopped at Victoria's Secret then sometimes the ads you see on your computer will be racier. I mostly see advertisements for ModCloth lately (because I've been looking for dresses to wear to all the weddings I've been attending) or vacation sites (because I'm always looking at vacation sites). The ads are customized to each reader.
Now that you mention this, I saw something on a news show that experimented with gmail. Two people were emailing each other and watched the ads that popped up, which pulled directly from words that they mentioned. It was interesting to see, but I already knew this from seeing the ads on my gmail screen.
Now my interest is peaked and I'll be looking at all the ads when I blog! :) It happened on someone else's blog that I viewed a few months ago and I told that person, too. Interestingly, she went to her post and saw something on the same subject matter.
My daughter likes fashion sites... hmmm... :)
Thanks for responding! And to you and everyone else on this thread, I hope I haven't offended you with an off topic conversation, but maybe you've informed someone else, too, Kat. Next time anything something weird happens, I'll email you. :)
Anita- I don't think you offended anyone. My readers aren't that easily offended. ;)
Glad we got that all straightened out! :)
They are all so cute! Wow does time fly!!!
