You Capture: White

I love white. Pure, clean, soft white.  In trying to capture white this week I realized I don't have a whole lot of white around my house.  With four kids a whole lot of white just isn't smart.  Still, I love white.

To me, white is:

Poofy clouds
One of my favorite childhood stuffed animals that is now one of my kids' favorites
For some reason white makes me think of Grace
Beautiful flowers
 I find white flowers to be especially gorgeous this time of year
 But my favorite white around the house these days is my Molly.  Good dog.

So, tell me.  What does white mean to you?

Adorable pup! What great photographs! I love them all, though I have a soft spot for flowers and dogs. Beautiful work!

I love the seal! One of my very favorite childhood toys was a stuffed white seal, and now it's one of my daughter's most cherished possesions.

Great white choices all. I love freshly washed and hung outside white sheets. They smell so good!

I think I remember white...I used to own some white things, long long ago before I had children!
Beautiful photos.

These are all great shots of white. To me white really centers on the animals~goats, geese, llama, chicken, dog, etc.

Tabor- You're right! One of the first things I thought of was a big white sheet blowing on a clothesline outside. Love that. But I couldn't get a pic of it. ;)

OMG! Well my dear, I love white too -for pretty much the same reasons as you list as well and at times, I abhor white -mainly because white is often an impossible color to maintain here, with my two grandkids, too! But then white especially, and just about any color in a piece of clothing on me means sure as shooting, I'm gonna spill something on it and well, you can imagine too where it's gonna land -right smack dab in the middle of my chest! And in most cases, said spot is also going to be one that no matter what my daughter tries to use to remove that stinking stain, the efficiency level of any stain removal drops directly in proportion to how much I paid for that damned top too! ARRGH! (grease spots, I swear, are the absolute pits, worst ever to get out!) Peace and keep thinking nice thoughts about white and more white! Very pretty!

White? Makes me think of a color I'll never own or wear. At least since kids!

I think of dresses...little white sundresses for little girls (until they spill on it, of course... :) ), poofy First Communion dresses, and beautiful wedding gowns.

And new white tennies for the beginning of white they'll blind you! :)

Words To Live By

Be grateful for each new day.
A new day that you have never lived before.
Twenty-four new, fresh, unexplored hours to use usefully and profitably.
We can squander, neglect, or use them.
Life will be richer or poorer by the way we use today.
Finish every day and be done with it.
You have done what you could;
some blunders and absurdities crept in;
forget them as soon as you can.
Tomorrow is a new day.
You shall begin it well and serenely and with too high a spirit to be
encumbered with your old nonsense.

-Ralph Waldo Emerson
