Our Vacation So Far

With Todd having off of work this week (well, he had to go in to work for the day today, but OTHER than that he has off) we have really been able to enjoy the weather and the festivities.

We watched the 4th of July parade.
Spent a ton of time outside.
Went to the beach and dug in the sand.
Posed for pictures.
Spent time with family.
And spent time with best friends we haven't seen in years.
Watched the fabulous fireworks.
Went swimming at a beautiful lake near by.
Tested out the water.
And then jumped right in.
Splashed in the water.
Grace had an impomptu swimming lesson.
And then began swimming ON HER OWN.
She was so proud.
My little fishies.

It was a fabulous 4th of July and a great week.  We have spent just about every spare minute outside.  The weather has been hot and perfect.  We got to visit with my best friend and her children a lot which is a huge bonus.  And hopefully we will be able to get up north to the cabin at the end of the week and slow things down a little bit.

Sounds like you are all really soaking up the sun. Meanwhile, it's mid-winter here in Melbourne!

Kat, it's so hard to believe that Gracie is a year and a half old!

Our children are our lives, simple as that. I recently walked my eldest Authorbloglet down the aisle as a bride - and could not believe it had come so, so soon.

Great to see your comments on my blog. Have a great summer with Todd and the kids.

Last year this time we were in the US and caught up with DarylE in Times Square.

Best wishes, as always

David

I always enjoy seeing the pictures of you and your family -watching them grow and enjoy life in the process. These pics today were no exception for sure. But the one I really loved the most was the one of Grace standing in the sand, all decked out in her swimming best and the look on her face is like "Let's get this photo shoot over and done with so I can get back to the business at hand -digging in the sand and/or swimming!"
So nice to see you are indoctrinating her early on to the joy of the beach and swimming too!

Words To Live By

Be grateful for each new day.
A new day that you have never lived before.
Twenty-four new, fresh, unexplored hours to use usefully and profitably.
We can squander, neglect, or use them.
Life will be richer or poorer by the way we use today.
Finish every day and be done with it.
You have done what you could;
some blunders and absurdities crept in;
forget them as soon as you can.
Tomorrow is a new day.
You shall begin it well and serenely and with too high a spirit to be
encumbered with your old nonsense.

-Ralph Waldo Emerson
