This is what fall looks like through my eyes.

The wind was really whipping this weekend so the kids and I took a drive down the road to watch the waves for a while. The wind was too fierce and it was a bit too chilly to get out of the car, but I did manage to get a few great shots of my lake. The entire weekend was colder than normal. It barely got out of the fifties. Too cold for this early in the year, but we hardly minded since it meant we could have our first fire of the year.
I put up my decorations earlier this year than I ever have before (the beginning of September), but I just couldn't wait. I love fall colors. All the paint colors in my house are burnt oranges, yellows, creams, browns. This house was made for fall. My house is plastered in leaves and pumpkins, scarecrows and ghosts. Fall decorations make me happy.
The bushes and trees are turning colors now. Still far from peak season, but some of my bushes are looking pretty beautiful. I love looking out in the backyard and seeing this vibrant red. And there is so much more to come.
Sigh...
I just love fall. So even though Tommy had a broken arm, even though I had a bit of a mishap that left me with a huge, swollen, bloody, egg on my forehead, even though Todd was away this weekend, even though Todd had a stomach virus that he brought back home and now gave to me, even though it was a tad too cold, it was a lovely weekend and I can't wait to see what this next weekend brings. Perhaps the pumpkin farm? Perhaps a walk through the woods? The possibilities are endless.
Tell me, do you love fall?

I LOVE Fall...more than words can say. Although your post did a darn good job of capturing it all! I'm SUPER jeaouls of that fabulous looking fire. :-)
Fall is my favorite season...I love all things fall {well except if it rains non-stop, which it often does living in the rainy NW}. The smell of fall, the look of fall, the crisp air, the holidays to come, oh I could go on and on...I'm looking forward to putting up my decorations as soon as I can talk my husband into dragging them out of storage. :) I'm starting to plan an awesome harvest party for my kids and some friends this year and I'm so excited!
What beautiful pictures! I especially loved the second one of your children. :) I love summer, but fall is very beautiful.
Happy Fall! Sorry for the tummy bug and the goose egg. Hope you have a wonderful weekend.
I think Fall is my favorite, too! I love how you've done your house up!
Yes I love Fall.I have photo's from Sundays little adventure adn I almost went through a store front window on Saturday..lol.. Its in my blog if you want to read it..lol.. It was kind of funny.
Gorgeous, I love all your decorations and those pretty red leaves! I used to say Spring was my favorite season (for the flowers) but as I get older Fall is coming more into favor and we are even feeling it here in the South! Love it!!
Elaine- Thanks! I was gonna post more pics of my decorations but I don't want to bore everyone. I have decorations EVERYWHERE in the house. On every windowsill, ledge, railing. On tables, next to tables. I have those little window stickers on our doors and windows. It is crazy. May be overkill, but I don't care. ;)
I love fall to. I must say, you have a great attitude. You've been through some tough stuff lately. I loved your photos.
Oh how I miss fall ... this is my first "real" fall this year ... and I am beyond excited!
Hope everyone feels good ...
The colors in my house are perfect for fall decorations too!! I always hate taking them down.
Our fall has been gorgeous so far but very few trees have changed colors yet. I'm looking forward to that.
Wait, so what you're saying is that you love fall? ;) Me too!
But your decorations put me to shame. Our fall decorations consist of a jack-o-lantern and two fake bats that we suction cup to our front windows. Maybe I'll put in a bit more of an effort this year!
Holy cow Kat! You had broken bones bloody heads and icky stomachs and you're STILL smiling about the weather? I love that your glass (of warm cider hopefully ; ) is half full my friend!!!
Fall is THE best! I miss the midwest the most this time of year...I miss those fall colors so much.
Wow. I love fall at your house. We have fall here. It usually last for about a week and it's right after thanksgiving. :)
I try to, I really do. But I much prefer spring.
LOVE fall, and so glad to be in a place where it actually happens. ;)
I really enjoyed this post -all the "Even thoughs" but still you saw the good behind each and everyone of 'em! I don't know if you read Suldog's blog but his post today is one that really puts your thoughts into a very positive light. Check him out if you don't already do so! http://jimsuldog.blogspot.com/
Like you, he has that very important commodity -Faith -and both of you put that item out there, up front and personal today! Peace and continue enjoying fall -nothing finer, is there?
Lovely. Nothing like being a kid and sitting in front of a fireplace, eh?
I love the fall. It's my favorite season of the four. The beautiful colors, the lovely sleeping weather, the crispness in the air that just makes one feel a bit sharper and more focused, lovely fun holidays like Thanksgiving and Halloween...
Fall is my absolute favorite! It has even been unseasonably cold down here in FL, too, and we are loving it. We haven't fire up the fire place yet, but I can't wait to do it! I love the weather, the smells, the activities, the pumpkins, the whole feeling of fall, and especially HALLOWEEN!!!
I DO love fall! Looks like a beautiful time around your place.
Came over by way of Jeni's blog... so glad I did!
I DO love Fall and feel incredibly cheated that this one is slipping by so fast. Your decorations are gorgeous and I could just eat Grace up!! I love that photo of them by the fire :-)
Fall is absolutely my favorite season. Looks like you are enjoying it as it should be, in between the calamities. Your house all decorated looks straight out of a magazine. Gorgeous.
Loving Fall here too friend! We have been away from the colors just way too long!! As beautiful as mountains are in the Fall honestly, there is nothing better than the Midwest. (except probably new england)
We actually skipped church yesterday to head to an Applebutter Festival and to go hiking! It was awesome and made me so thankful we have gone through all the crazy amounts of stress to come back to where we belong! Bring on more Fall!!!
