Christmas Blessings

Ten years ago, our first Christmas together, the holiday looked something like this...
...and now it looks more like this...
Not quite as fancy. Not as much quality alone time. Not remotely as romantic. But more smiles. More fun. More happiness. And more love than we ever dreamed we could have.

This year, I have nothing to ask Santa for. God has given me everything I've always wanted.
I hope you all have a wonderful and blessed Christmas, and get everything you've always wanted.
Merry Christmas!

Hi Kat, saw your comment about losing your dad. We have a lot in common with the new babies too. It was a hard Christmas wasn't it? I am glad it is over. Hope you got through it and enjoyed your little girl's first Christmas as best as you could. Merry Christmas.

You have a beautiful family.

I do, however, want to ask that you use the word "lucky" in place of "blessed." Because if you are blessed (definition: divinely or supremely favored), then those who cannot have a family must be un-blessed, un-favored, or cursed, when really, they are just supremely unlucky. Not saying this with nastiness, just offering a simple suggestion.

Anonymous- I completely understand what you are saying, however there are many more ways to be blessed than just with family. Perhaps those who are not able to have a family are blessed with good health. Or a loving soulmate. Or wonderful parents. There is not just one way to be blessed.
I think God has supreme favor on all of His people. We just might not see all of our blessings clearly. I am thankful for my blessings. And my luck. ;)

Our christmas looked something like that this year too... but we only have one! I really didn't need to ask for anything either. Maybe next year we could add one more to our family... we will see what happens :)

Words To Live By

Be grateful for each new day.
A new day that you have never lived before.
Twenty-four new, fresh, unexplored hours to use usefully and profitably.
We can squander, neglect, or use them.
Life will be richer or poorer by the way we use today.
Finish every day and be done with it.
You have done what you could;
some blunders and absurdities crept in;
forget them as soon as you can.
Tomorrow is a new day.
You shall begin it well and serenely and with too high a spirit to be
encumbered with your old nonsense.

-Ralph Waldo Emerson
