She's Here

The first time I've ever labored longer than 7 hours (16 to be exact).

The first time I've ever cussed like a sailor during delivery (I am so embarrassed).

The first time one of my babies has come out on the very first long, hard push.

The first time one of my babies has had a full head of hair.

The first time one of my babies has had a full head of black hair.

The first time I've ever fallen in love with a little girl.

On Saturday, August 15, 2009 at 9:59 p.m. God graced us with Grace Marie.
She weighed 7lbs 12 oz, and is 20 1/2 inches long.
Her brothers are deeply smitten with their little sister.
And daddy was so impressed that she waited to make her entrance until after the Packer preseason game was over.
We are all back home now. Resting (somewhat) comfortably. Thanking God for this wonderful gift and knowing that life really doesn't get better than this.

How absolutely wonderful!!!!! I'm not surprised that she was the longest/hardest labor...I've learned over the last 2.5 years that that's the kind of wonderful drama that comes with a little girl!
Oh, and she is just beyond beautiful!

It`s awesome to have been following along through the whole pregnancy and then here to beautiful Grace. I love the name, I love what a good looking family you all are, and I love that there will be girl stuff and pink and frills and ruffles and fun. You have to be beyond thrilled. I`m sure Grace`s brothers will be great protectors, too.

Congrats. I`m soooo happy for you. I kept checking for updates and was thrilled to find this today.

Oh swear it up, there's a person coming out of your body. I think there is something wrong with giving birth with grace and dignity. She's beautiful, and will be well protected by all those boys.

And I'm sitting here, reading this post, gazing at the pictures of your beautiful little girl and having to wipe tears from my eyes at the wonder of it all!
Congratulations to you -and your entire family -with the addition of this most precious little girl to your fold. So you let fly with a couple curse words. Big deal. After 16 hours, who wouldn't?
But I'm betting you wouldn't trade those 16 hours for anything now that all is said and done and most importantly, she's here, in your arms to begin the wondrous years ahead of raising her.
Peace and much love to little Grace Marie for having landed with such a great family.

Hurray and Congrats!!!!!!!!!

On Monday we got to see a 10 hour old baby in the hospital. It was so wonderful to see such new life. I attended a very sad funeral last week, but I know that as some life is leaving this earth, it is being replaced by new bundles of joy.

Grace, you've already got a huge fan club!

Cara said...

Congratulations! I am so behind my reader that I just read this post today. I love how she got a full head of dark hair in the midst of all your blondies. Nicolo had a full head of dark hair that fell out and came back blonde. Enjoy her and get some rest!

Words To Live By

Be grateful for each new day.
A new day that you have never lived before.
Twenty-four new, fresh, unexplored hours to use usefully and profitably.
We can squander, neglect, or use them.
Life will be richer or poorer by the way we use today.
Finish every day and be done with it.
You have done what you could;
some blunders and absurdities crept in;
forget them as soon as you can.
Tomorrow is a new day.
You shall begin it well and serenely and with too high a spirit to be
encumbered with your old nonsense.

-Ralph Waldo Emerson
