I'm. Still. Here.

Nope. Still no baby.

I know many of you have been wondering if I am in the hospital right now so I thought I'd update you all. I'm still here. No baby.

(sigh)

The good news is that my face is getting fat. Todd told me as much this morning. He said, "Your face is definitely looking bigger." And you know what? I wasn't even insulted. Todd and I have come to the conclusion that my face gets very swollen on the day I go into labor. We never really noticed it until we were looking back at all of our hospital pictures and videos. So, now we are watching closely for it. Apparently, my face looks especially fat today. Yeah! And who knows, it may be even BIGGER tomorrow. So exciting.

The boys are beyond anxious. They are constantly talking into my belly button (what is it a microphone or something?) telling baby girl she should come out now. They tell her how much they love her and how they can't wait to hold her. Now what girl could resist that? So sweet.

And then the other day Tommy told me he thinks I should be thin again. Yeah. I'll see what I can do about that, you little neanderthal. Of course the boys later made up for that comment by telling me that I'm really not THAT big, and that they still think I'm beautiful. Aww. Sweet little liars. They must be able to tell how fragile I am right now because they have been especially good at stroking mommy's ego these last few days.

In the meantime I've thrown all caution to the wind with taking it easy. I have been taking the boys on super long walks and prepping the house like a crazy woman. Cleaning sheets, baking, sweeping floors, grocery shopping. It's all done. Cuz, I mean, this baby HAS to come sometime soon, right? She can't stay in my belly forever. Right? RIGHT???

Anywho, I will keep you all posted if anything of note happens. And if any of my IRL friends and family are reading this, don't call me, I'll call you. Picking up the phone every few minutes to answer the questions, "Baby isn't here YET?" and "When IS she coming?" has done nothing to improve my mood. Thanks.

I get all giddy whenever I see that there is a new post over here, hoping, as you are, that your new daughter will be here soon! Hang in there. She does have to come out. I think. ;)

Poor you. My Gracie was a week late and ohhhh, that waiting was agony. Maybe if you mowed the lawn?

Now aren't you glad I don't have your phone number? (I'm only popping by here about 10 times a day) Although if I did, I still wouldn't ask (a pregnant woman) "Haven't you had that baby yet?" yikes-- that's a good way to lose some teeth.
You are in good spirits and still have your sharp wit-- you cracked me up through this whole post.
I'm glad your face is fat and your boys are such wonderful little ego strokers.
This is so exciting!!

She'll pick her very own arrival time!

Hang in there, but what else can you do? Just take the comments from people in the way they are meant. All out of love for you. It is after the baby comes, and you happen to leave her home while you go to the store for whatever, and someone comes up and asks, "Isn't that baby ever going to come?" You have my permission to punch him or her in the nose!

I'm like every one else...keep us posted, if you can.

Those brothers are going to be so protective....her whole life!

I always hated that when I went to work and heard people say "You are still here!" Drove me nuts. Crossing my fingers for you this weekend. She has to come, you are so prepared!! :)

You poor thing. And ooh boy, I do remember the phone calls when my babies were late. I wanted to reach right through the phone line and throttle someone!

I'll be thinking of you. Soon it will all be over and she'll be beautiful!

First off, I love that you used the word neanderthal. That made me giggle.

I have a feeling she's going to be here soon (or at least I'm praying that she will...) Hang in there sweetie. It won't be long and you'll be kissing her sweet face!

Your boys are absolutly adorable!

Speaking of fat faces, my nose swells to about five times it's original size at the end of my pregnancies I swear. I look back at the pictures and it's, well, horrendous! My whole face puffs up too, but the nose is especially bad! Fun times, fun times.

hang in there girl...treat your self to something nice. :)

Hang in there - and keep staying busy....although that never helped with me - it DID help to make me not think about it anymore!! Can't wait!

well you just had your nesting instinct and all that housework that your supposed to try and ignore and no one ever does.

Think maybe all that talking into your belly button microphone is making her feel shy? How cute!!

Think she'll be here pretty soon and nothing on you looks really big, your just used to being your small athletic self.

Well, here's to the fat face, then! Bring it on, right?

Hopefully, she'll be here soon. In the mean time, I think I would put my phone on silent!

I was a bloated woman with all 3 of mine--water retention is a horrible thing.
How cute that they talk to her through your belly button!
I'm so excited to read the post announcing her arrival!

I did all the laundry in the house every night for the last couple of weeks before Rachel was born because I just kept thinking that it all needed to be done before she would come. :)

Here's hopin' your face gets even fatter! Haha! That was hilarious, and I especially liked the part about your boys being so very nice to you. Hopefully your little girl isn't setting herself up for a lifetime of being late to everything. ;D

Hope it was your day! Or tomorrow. Or the next! Wishing you a speedy delivery and a wonderful staff at the hospital. I can't wait to hear all about it.

fat face, nesting...sounds like it's getting close.

Well, congrats on the fat face then. That's something...
Here's hoping that she makes her arrival soon!

ooooh, no photostory friday... that's good news ;-)

Words To Live By

Be grateful for each new day.
A new day that you have never lived before.
Twenty-four new, fresh, unexplored hours to use usefully and profitably.
We can squander, neglect, or use them.
Life will be richer or poorer by the way we use today.
Finish every day and be done with it.
You have done what you could;
some blunders and absurdities crept in;
forget them as soon as you can.
Tomorrow is a new day.
You shall begin it well and serenely and with too high a spirit to be
encumbered with your old nonsense.

-Ralph Waldo Emerson
