The First Week

The first full week at home is already over. Time is flying even faster than before. Life is so crazy busy that the woman who never puts her camera down has had zero time to even pick it up. And though the week included a sick Tommy, a sicker Ben, round the clock every half hour pooping from Grace, sleepless nights, emergencies at the new house, extreme pain on my part, and a bit of an emotional breakdown or two by yours truly, it has been a blessed week.

The boys are so in love with their little sister. It is such a beautiful thing to see. She seems to be just as smitten with them, looking at them and paying such attention to their affections.

Grace is such a little lady. She seems to be patient and mild mannered so far, which is greatly appreciated by me in the middle of the night. When she does wake up she lets out little cries and saves the loud screams for extreme hunger. She is quite the little lady. I'm afraid she already has us all wrapped around her little finger.

Todd was able to get a couple of days off of work and made life so much easier for me. It was so wonderful having him home with us. He did have to go back to work yesterday, but the day still managed to go fairly smoothly, thank heavens.

In short, life is good. I am riding a huge wave of love. I never imagined in my wildest dreams that I would be so blessed. Surrounded by such love. I think I may just be the luckiest lady in the world.

I'm glad she's so wonderful...definitely knew she would be though. :-)

I'm terribly sorry for your pain. I hope that is better. It is truly hard to be functional when you're in pain.

I'm sorry you had so much extra chaos added to your week but you seem to have such great spirits still. Hope everybody is healthy now and you have a wonderfully relaxing weekend!

So good to hear from you, I was wondering how things were going. She does sound like a wonderful little lady, how sweet. Sorry you are in so much pain, it's so hard to add that into everything else after the baby is born. Plus the kids being sick on top of it, good grief! Glad Todd could take a little time off, that's always nice isn't it! I think you might be the luckiest lady in the world, at least for about six more weeks, then it just might have to be my turn... ;)

I'm so glad that in the midst of the chaos you are really enjoying everything. I am really jealous of your little girl, but I guess after so many boys you deserved her!! haha. I love sweet little ladies.

I'm glad things are going well with little Grace and the boys are so smitten. Sorry about all of the chaos and setbacks with the house...I'm sure the post-pregnancy hormones aren't doing anything for you!

It sounds like it's been quite a first week! I hope that everyone is feeling better soon, including you. I love hearing stories about Grace and how in love with her your boys are. :)

I'm so sorry you've had sick kids, especially on your first week with Grace-- that is tough!

I am thrilled for you, you know that right? Reading your words reminded me of that first few weeks with Kyleigh. I couldn't quit marveling over her.
Hope everyone stays healthy and that little lady lets you get a little rest :-)

Sorry the boys were sick but otherwise it sounds like you had a pretty good week. So glad to hear it. Can't wait to see more pics of your little angel (you know, when you have a chance to pick up the camera...)!

Glad the little lady is doing well and I hope the boys feel better soon! I totally hear ya on the "losing it". I've done that quite a few times myself and I only have THE ONE child...I don't know how you do it! LOL

Oh, the round-the-clock pooping! I honestly think I have never seen a kid that poops as much as Peanut! She's FINALLY gotten to the age where she only poops once or twice a day.

in sounds like your sanity is in tact;-)

Glad to hear everything is going good with the new family member and everyone else. Its hard to adjust to a new member even when you already have three. My first one had a hard time with the second one.. But they were good for eachother. I wouldnt change a thing. Hope it gets better and life slows down a bit for you and yours.

Such sweet bliss! I always called these the baby "pinks" (since I never had the "blues" after giving birth). Enjoy each and every moment, sweet girl. It's a wonderful life and yours is brimming. Praise God.

p.s.
I'll start praying right now for "those days" to come when you will be pulling your hair out FOUR TIMES OVER! I'll get started on that right now while you are marinating in all this sweetness.

So happy for you and your entire family.

HUGS!

Words To Live By

Be grateful for each new day.
A new day that you have never lived before.
Twenty-four new, fresh, unexplored hours to use usefully and profitably.
We can squander, neglect, or use them.
Life will be richer or poorer by the way we use today.
Finish every day and be done with it.
You have done what you could;
some blunders and absurdities crept in;
forget them as soon as you can.
Tomorrow is a new day.
You shall begin it well and serenely and with too high a spirit to be
encumbered with your old nonsense.

-Ralph Waldo Emerson
