We have been waiting all summer long for some real hot weather and we finally are getting it this week. Today is supposed to hover around 100 degrees, the air thick with humidity. Normally you would think that a woman who could go into labor at any second would not want this kind of heat, but seeing how this summer has been mostly around the low 70s, I'm welcoming the heat. Of course, it did make mass rather difficult this morning as our huge, old church does not have air conditioning. I thought for one brief moment that I was actually seeing Jesus, but I managed to plow through and not pass out for the whole hour.
If the thunderstorms can hold off the boys will actually get a chance to play in their pudgie pool this afternoon. I really hope they can, because I wouldn't mind sitting in some cold water right now too.
Hmm. I just read my title over and realized I probably had you all thinking that baby is finally here. Hehe. Sorry. She did manage to wait until Todd got back home (thankfully) but I think she is planning on waiting a bit longer than that now. So far I haven't felt much in the way of contractions so it may be a few days yet. Which is fine by me. Whenever she is ready. I know I am very uncomfortable right now and everything, but I can definitely put off labor for a while longer. Oh yes. And sleep deprivation too. I am savoring these last few "lazy" days while I've got them. But I promise to keep you all updated as soon as I start to suspect changes.
For now I am going to take a little snooze on the couch while the boys are napping and then hopefully dip my tootsies in the boys' pool a little later. I may even treat myself to some ice tea to celebrate the heat. Woohoo! Let's hear it for summer!

YAY that the heat is there with you and not here with me! it was around 104 all week last week and I died a little because we dont have ac out in WA. I hope you can get some good rest before that baby girl is ready!
Enjoy these last few days. You are so right, things will change all too quickly.
yes! It's finally H O T here too! Amazing how mild this summer has been! We were excited to get the pool out this afternoon, too!
The pool and a glass of ice tea are definitely calling your name! Stay cool, mama!
You are right...the heat is on and I love it! Stay cool and enjoy!
I just love how you are excited by the heat (I'm being a little sarcastic here...) I'm tired of it already and yes, being pregnant when it's hot and humid is NOT fun. Hope you get the pool time you deserve! : )
Ugh, I couldn't even stand to be outside this morning, which was actually a good thing most of the house got cleaned. I have been lovin' the 70's of this summer.
maybe the hot will come over my way!! I did think you were saying "finally" to the labor starting :-)
Girl, you tricked us with that title!
Here it's hot all the time (there's a reason we call it Hot-lanta!) and I love it!! Hope you're enjoying your hot summer day!
I DID think that the baby was here LOL!
I'm actually enjoying the not-so-hot summer, and today was the hottest yet, but with thunderstorms, so we stayed inside. Lame, I know.
Yep, the title totally made me think it was that time. I`m content to wait as long as you are content to wait. How exciting! Oh, and yay about the weather, too. ;)
exactly what my thoughts were with that title. oh, she's here! lol. i guess if you can wait we can too.
Yes...you did trick me with that title! ;)
We've had plenty of hundred plus days around my house, and I'm finally enjoying some cooler weather.
oh - I clicked over so quickly, only to hear summer is finally here, and not yoru little babe!!!!
I am almost as excited as I was for my baby girlie!
HUGS
Yep, I thought you had the baby!!! Oh well, soon enough, right?
I too am happy with the heat! We went to the pool yesterday & it felt so refreshing in the heat - that's what summer is all about!
I hope you had a nice nap and a cool dip in the pool!
Thank you for taking our heat away. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!!!
And now you can tell stories to your little girl about how she was born on 102 degree day, and you labored for 48 hours, etc, etc,. ;) Make it up if you have to just to help your story.
Well, at least the little lady waited until Todd got home. Maybe she's confused and think's he's still gone. :)
Good luck!
It has gotten hot here too.
Its been warm here and I havent let the girls outside when it was that warm. We dont have our pool up this year. We wanted out fence first but didnt happen yet.
Enjoy your ice tea - it's winter here!
Yes...I read your title and thought...Yay baby!
That was mean. Mean, mean, mean Title, dear...
*GLARE* The end of your pregnancy is obviously making you MEAN!!!
:P~~
I'll trade! You can have my swampy Georgia hovering near 100 degrees every day for months on end weather.....I'll gladly take your 70s!!
I was SO happy to feel hot and sweaty--it's been a year at least since we've last had this kind of weather!
My heart totally skipped a beat when I read the title! :)
So glad to hear you finally got some real summer heat. Hope you're getting a chance to steal some R & R
Glad you are getting to enjoy some real summer weather! And I can't WAIT till you have this little girl and see some sweet pics!!
