Misfit Love

The hubby and I were driving in the car when a Phil Collins song (Separate Lives) came on the radio.
Todd immediately said, "This is a couple's skate everyone. Couples skate only."

I, catching the roller skating reference, laughed.

Then Todd proceeded, "And that is when I would go sit down. No one ever wanted to skate with the fat kid."

"Aww, honey. No one ever wanted to skate with the skinny, flat-chested girl that looked like a boy either." I comforted.

He chuckled and said, "I did. But she didn't want to skate with me either."

We laughed some more and held hands, happy that those days are long gone.

And now the two misfits live happily ever after.

I miss Couples Skating... I miss skating. My kids need to be old enough to go skating so I have an excuse to go skating!

That was funny. I was the "skinny, flat-chested girl that looked like a boy" girl too. We should start a group.

Don't ask me for proof. I still have scars!!

What a sweet story to record.

My problem was no coordination. I could not skate to save my life. So glad those days are past!

Awwww, how cute are you guys??

And hey, I used to have the pink pom poms for my roller skates. Not that it totally got the boys or anything. :) Pretty sure I didn't do the couples skate either. I was too tall!

Words To Live By

Be grateful for each new day.
A new day that you have never lived before.
Twenty-four new, fresh, unexplored hours to use usefully and profitably.
We can squander, neglect, or use them.
Life will be richer or poorer by the way we use today.
Finish every day and be done with it.
You have done what you could;
some blunders and absurdities crept in;
forget them as soon as you can.
Tomorrow is a new day.
You shall begin it well and serenely and with too high a spirit to be
encumbered with your old nonsense.

-Ralph Waldo Emerson
