What a difference a few years can make!
This past weekend we went to the Wilderness Territory in Wisconsin Dells to kick off our spring break. It is the same place we stayed three years ago on our spring break and yet our experience was vastly different this time around.
This year we could barely keep up with the kids as they swam, played, and went down the waterslides. This year I didn't have panic attacks trying to keep an eye on three boys that couldn't swim well. Nor did I have to sit out and watch from a distance as I hung back with Grace. This year it didn't take much convincing to get the boys on the biggest fastest rides. This year Grace went down the slides by herself and laughed and laughed in the wave pool.
It was a wonderful vacation. The kids behaved well, slept well, and really enjoyed themselves. I must say, I'm pretty exhausted from all the fun. Good thing Todd and I have our own little vacation planned.
Now if only I can shut my brain off from all my mommy worries and enjoy myself. Keeping my fingers crossed!

Have a super time on your REAL vacation, girlie! XO
FTR, we took our kids to an indoor waterpark once. That was enough!
I loved going to the Dells when I was a kid, but it looks like there have been some changes, for sure! So glad you could enjoy time with your "bigger" kids now. Looks like they all were enjoying themselves.
that looks like fun -and it's INDOORS?!?!
I think it is impossible to totally shut off the mommy brain. What you should do is just turn is way down.
Lindsey- Yes! It is all indoors. And it is huge. They have four or five separate indoor waterparks at the hotel we stayed in. It was awesome! Just what we needed to warm up from this frigid cold we've been having.
Tabor- You're right. And I'm a worrier. It's what I do. ;) I can't turn it off but I'm doing a pretty good job ignoring it. :)
That does look like fun! We have a place like that here called Great Wolf Lodge. I think it is one of my son's favorite places in the world. Have a great vacation!
What a great time! We just found a "book" our oldest wrote about the Great Wolf Lodge! Guess we need to go back...and learn to swim!
Hey from SA :) memories are made of this...glad your family holiday went so well. Good luck for your next 'get-away' too !
Yeah, vacations are WAY more fun when the kids get older. I'm glad you enjoyed the water park--and hopefully you are really getting excited for your "me time" with your husband!
How FUN! So glad it was a great family vacation! Now go and have a great time with your hubby!
I have actually been to the Dells about 14 years ago. I don't think I had nearly as much fun as you and yours. Enjoy your upcoming time away.
YAY! So glad to hear it!
and I hope you and Todd have a wonderful time alone.
That sounds fun and exhausting, much like our trip to The Great Wolf Lodge! ha! But yes, it's nice as they get older to have to worry less. :)
I am jealous! Looks like you guys had so much fun!
sounds wonderful my friend. glad you had fun.
glad it was such a fun time! it's great when the kids are old enough to have that kind of fun without so much concern.
Sounds fabulous! Have a great time on your adult holiday :)
Looks fabulous! We were all set to do that too at a resort here for Spring break, until we discovered they struggle with bedbug outbreaks. Um, no thank you.
