Because I Spoke It

This is what happens when you say you don't want a white Christmas.

I jinxed it.  I blabbed to everyone I know how much I love the fact that we haven't had any snow yet.  Every time my boys would wish for snow I made a "blech" noise.  I announced my love for the green grass.  And even though there was no snow in the forecast I woke up to this.

It was a jinx.  Kind of like the other day when I was smothering my dog with affection and proclaiming that I had the best dog in the world.  I found out a few moments later that she had chewed up one of Todd's Christmas gifts.  Not.  A. Good.  Dog.

*sigh*

Oh well.  The snow is rather pretty.  And I don't think there is so much that I will have to shovel or plow it.  And it will probably melt since the forecast is warming up right away (there I go again-jinx).

At least all of my errand running, shopping, wrapping, and craziness is all done.  Other than the boys' school talent show this morning I can just sit back and enjoy the Christmas bliss.  It must be a first.  Normally I am still scrambling for gifts and the presents don't even get wrapped until the very last minute.  Literally.  The last minute.  I'm talking close to midnight on Christmas Eve.  But this year it's all done.  Bring on Christmas!

Nice! Oh I long for your snow... we haven't had a white Christmas in forever!! I am pretty much done with shopping as well {as far as I can tell, but you never know, haha!} and almost all wrapped... which is a first as well. I'm normally in the wrapping til midnight camp as well. :)

Merry Christmas!!!

Ha! That is funny-- says the person surrounded by green while wishing for snow ;)
Just make up some hot cocoa and call it break time from the frenzy. Merry Christmas Kat!

I have to say, viewing that scene from my vantage point, that it does look very pretty. But, considering the fact where I live (Penna.) often gets a lot of snow, sometimes even sneaky snowfalls that aren't predicted and my longings for the need to have a White Christmas disappeared many years ago when I realized it can be a royal pain to drive in the stuff at times, I'd be thinking like you were that you jinxed yourself. Hope it's a short-lived visit in your neck of the woods and hope it doesn't decide to take off and re-land here too! But the hot chocolate and a restful break sounds like one great suggestion to me! Peace and Merry Christmas!

LOL. When I opened the garage door this morning I actually smiled and said yay, a white Christmas. I figure it is the perfect amount just enough to cover stuff, but not a ton to shovel.

It sure does look pretty! The girls keep asking for snow..it doesn't snow here that often...I don't know why they keep thinking we need tons of snow. Our city can't handle it!

Words To Live By

Be grateful for each new day.
A new day that you have never lived before.
Twenty-four new, fresh, unexplored hours to use usefully and profitably.
We can squander, neglect, or use them.
Life will be richer or poorer by the way we use today.
Finish every day and be done with it.
You have done what you could;
some blunders and absurdities crept in;
forget them as soon as you can.
Tomorrow is a new day.
You shall begin it well and serenely and with too high a spirit to be
encumbered with your old nonsense.

-Ralph Waldo Emerson
