Just Thursday

Outside my window... It is rainy and foggy.  The perfect day to sit around and do nothing.  If you don't already have a million things to do.  Which I do.  Boo.

Today I feel... Tired, sore, lazy, and blaahhhh

I am thinking... about what to make for dinner tonight.

I am thankful...  for the way life has worked out.  I'm such a lucky lady.

Tomorrow I am going to... Do a bunch of laundry.  Shop for Joey's birthday.  Workout.

I am wearing... Spandex shorts, a ratty t-shirt, and my running shoes.  Pretty hot, right?  You should see my hair!  HA! I didn't have enough time to shower after my run because the kids woke up early from their naps.  Now I have to wait until Todd comes home from work.  And I stink.  Yuck.

I wish... Todd and I would have thought about expanding our small family room when we were originally building so that we wouldn't have to do it now, which will be a lot more work.  Duh.  Oh well.  It will be great when it's done.  *sigh*

This weekend... can't come soon enough.

I am reading... many blogs but I'm not commenting much.  Lately I feel like I don't have much to say.

I am working on... myself constantly.

Yesterday I... still had a touch of the flu.

I am hoping... the renovation of our family room goes super quickly.

I am hearing... the kids playing in their blanket fort.

I bet you didn't know... that I can't stand it when people say "irregardless" or "expecially" or "libary" or "melk" or "samwich" (the list could go on and on)

One of my favorite... television shows is Survivor and it just started again last night.  And OOOOHHHH BOY, it was a doosey!  So good.

If I could travel anywhere, I would choose... somewhere warm and tropical and romantic for the hubby and I.  We've never been to Hawaii and have always said we'd go for our 10 year anniversary, but things being as they are it doesn't look like we will be able to.  Ah well.  Someday.

I don't know about up there, but down here a lot of people say "warsh" instead of "wash" and it makes me crazy! LOL

Hope you're feeling better tomorrow.

Kelly- My cousin always says "warsh" and it always confused me because we grew up in the same area with the same family, and she is the only one who ever says it. It drives me crazy too! ;)

My mom says warsh. I've made my peace with it. Aks makes me certifiably insane though.

I bet you get to Hawaii someday.

I can't believe you're going to remodel already! You brave woman. :)

I'm glad you feel thankful for your life, I know it's had it's challenges.

I thought you were going to say that you wished you would have thought about expanding your FAMILY. You know once you have 4 what's 5 or 6, or 7 or 8?

Remodeling? Seriously? Sorry your sick. You need a baby sitter to go to Hawaii? Maybe it will be a family trip. You guys like to go with your kids too. You can bring me along an I'll be the Nannie so you can have some alone time.

Mom24 & Karen- I know. The remodel is the hubby's idea. He has always said the living room was too small, but I thought it was just fine. However, it seems we are going to be the hosts of every Thanksgiving, Christmas, superbowl, etc for the next 30 years and we've realized that the living room is super small. There really isn't even enough room for our whole family to sit and watch a movie, but since the kids are young we can sit on laps or the floor. However, with them getting bigger (and all the freaking get togethers we have) it just makes sense to expand the living room out. I just can't believe we didn't think of it when we were doing the original remodel. How dumb. We were worried about the size of the living room right away (even knocked down a wall to make it bigger but that didn't help that much) I can't believe we didn't just think to kick it out a bit. DUH! Anyway, it is something that would always bother Todd if he doesn't do it so we might as well just do it already. Grrrr.

I do better about blog reading and commenting if I pay attention to my reader and try to keep it cleared out in smaller increments. Usually makes me feel less rushed then and I tend to feel more inclined then to comment. Some days though -and I've had a few of these lately -I just don't feel that I have much to say. It's not that the posts I read are not interesting or even compelling at times but just that I can't seem to get my thoughts organized enough to say something that would be even half intelligible. Your post tonight made me realize that others get into those same kind of slumps and I'm not alone, not by a long shot then. Peace.

Nodding my head at your last one--D tried to whisk me away to Vegas for a weekend (to celebrate my upcoming 40th bday) but alas! Couldn't find a SOUL to care for our 3 boys--ages 6-11--easy brood to care for. Yet here we sit, no way to get away and none in the future that we can see.

Green Girl- Yep, that's it. We are surrounded by our family. Literally, all of our immediate family is within a half an hour of us. The grandmas are really the only ones that have ever watched the kids but with my mom just coming off of heart surgery and Todd's mom having a hard enough time taking care of his dad (Alzheimer's) we don't want to ask them to watch our kids for 5 days. We wouldn't feel comfortable asking anyone else either. Your brood is probably much easier to take care of than ours. It would be a lot to ask someone. Ah well. Someday we'll make it happen. :)

Hi! I haven't been in a while...it's fun to check out your blog again. I just have to say "samwich" drives me nuts, too. And a certain side of our family uses it a lot (which is not my side).

Words To Live By

Be grateful for each new day.
A new day that you have never lived before.
Twenty-four new, fresh, unexplored hours to use usefully and profitably.
We can squander, neglect, or use them.
Life will be richer or poorer by the way we use today.
Finish every day and be done with it.
You have done what you could;
some blunders and absurdities crept in;
forget them as soon as you can.
Tomorrow is a new day.
You shall begin it well and serenely and with too high a spirit to be
encumbered with your old nonsense.

-Ralph Waldo Emerson
