Hurray! January Is Over!!!!

It is February 1st today!  Yahoo!!!!  That means bad old, dreary, long, cold, miserable January is gone for another whole year!  That makes me a happy lady.  Plus I love February.

February is such a fun month.  It is filled with birthdays and Valentine's Day (and that means chocolate covered strawberries for MEEEEEeeeee!!!) and the Superbowl!  It is a nice, short, little month that makes me feel spring isn't far away.  Every time I think about February red and pink immediately pop into my head.  It makes me feel so warm and fuzzy.  I love February.

And today for a special treat we are part of the massive snowstorm that is sweeping the nation.  The school district called for an early release day today and already cancelled school tomorrow.  Yippee!!!  I love snow days!  It may be too cold to actually play out in the snow for very long but we'll manage to find some fun anyway.  Movies and popcorn and a nice, cozy fire.  Oooooo.   Oh!  And snow ice cream!  Have you made it?  We will definitely be making some tomorrow.  It's easy peasy and a sure-fire treat that will really get your kiddos excited.

Snow Ice Cream
4 to 5 cups snow
1/2 cup powder sugar
1/4 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup milk

Mix the milk and vanilla together and add the powdered sugar and snow.  Tada!  Easy!  Add little spinkles to the top or chocolate syrup.  It's awesome!

Ahhhh, February.  Thank you for coming.  I'm so glad your here.

Happy February to you, and enjoy that snow day tomorrow! I think the midwest could afford to share a bit of that snow you're getting with us up here in Washington. ;)

Oh, I'm so with you on January...see you next year. Enjoy your snow days. I want to make snow ice cream. How could I have grown up in the Midwest and missed out on this?

I'm ready for the Superbowl...even blogged about football today (specifically Vikings/Packers).

Hi, just visiting your blog for the first time and a flood of memories came back. I also have three boys and a girl although they are young adults now, ages 20 -12, but I was reminded of the wonderful years of their childhood. I even have a dog that looks like your Molly! lol...
Thanks for sharing your journey, it goes fast, doesn't it?

The "bowl" in Superbowl looks perfect, but that "Super" part looks all sorts of icky with that green. ;-)

I am so happy for you. I love snow days too and we make snow cream!! Now if you all could quit hogging all of the white stuff, I'd like to see a little before all of my daffodils bloom please.

Ahhh, I too feel better with vision of pink and red. Although today we were only to get a "dusting" and it has already snowed 6 inches!! I am secretly dreaming of a vacation to the Bahamas sure that it would cure my winter blues!! :)

Love catching up with your family! It sounds like you have been busy as ever with your adorable kids. Grace is getting so big!! Here's to the birthdays that are on the horizon in your house!

I have missed reading about you friend! :) And Go Packers!

Though I do love January I am happy for February.

Words To Live By

Be grateful for each new day.
A new day that you have never lived before.
Twenty-four new, fresh, unexplored hours to use usefully and profitably.
We can squander, neglect, or use them.
Life will be richer or poorer by the way we use today.
Finish every day and be done with it.
You have done what you could;
some blunders and absurdities crept in;
forget them as soon as you can.
Tomorrow is a new day.
You shall begin it well and serenely and with too high a spirit to be
encumbered with your old nonsense.

-Ralph Waldo Emerson
