WW- Bird Watching

I'm back to my summertime obsession:
 A Goldfinch, a Pine Siskin, and a House Finch walk into a bar...

An immature Red-wing Blackbird

 A Common Grackle

 White Crowned Sparrow

 Three Pine Siskins

 A Pine Siskin

 A female Goldfinch watches the Pine Siskins eat

 An Oriole

What?

 You talkin' to me?

 Coming closer

Checking it out

Getting comfy

Wow, these are great!

I love to bird watch around here too, we have a TON of cardinals and bluejays.

And isn't it funny that the male birds tend to be "prettier" than the females...? ;)

I love to watch the birds. I've only seen an oriole a few times in my whole life. We Also don't have the white crowned sparrow here. Interesting!

I just bought a new camera and lens that is a step up. Now, all I have to do is learn how to use it and maybe I can capture photos as lovely as yours.

My interest in birds and nature have grown exponentially over the last year or two.

What a joyful hobby this must be for you! Thanks for sharing it.

Your bird pictures are wonderful. I love watching birds too. I have a feeder outside my living room window. I constantly have to refill it because a squirrel eats it all!

me too I love the birds. I won't put poison out because I'm afraid the birds will eat it and we are infested with every bug in the south...but I love the birds.

Fun! Love the pics:) I just finally got my hummingbird feeder out, but have nothing to attract other birds. I've been thinking it would be fun to get a book and identify them with the kids...if they don't scare them away first:) Thanks for sharing the fun pics!

Words To Live By

Be grateful for each new day.
A new day that you have never lived before.
Twenty-four new, fresh, unexplored hours to use usefully and profitably.
We can squander, neglect, or use them.
Life will be richer or poorer by the way we use today.
Finish every day and be done with it.
You have done what you could;
some blunders and absurdities crept in;
forget them as soon as you can.
Tomorrow is a new day.
You shall begin it well and serenely and with too high a spirit to be
encumbered with your old nonsense.

-Ralph Waldo Emerson
