The Return of Haiku Friday

Sponsered by LouCeeL

The ick is coming
Runny nose, sore throat, fever
There is no escape

One member gets it
Then we all have to get it
A house of sickies

Two calls home from school
"Pick me up mom.  I feel sick."
Where's the Sudafed?

Oh spring won't you come?
Replace our winter sickies
With flowers in bloom

I hope you all get better soon - but I love how kids get it from other kids (usually at school) and then they bring it home to give to everyone else - and second hand sick is NEVER as easy as just getting sick in the first place.

Your 'Ku is cool - thank you for bringing your Haiku to Haiku Friday.

This cold is really weird. We've all (mostly the kids) had stuffy noses for the last few weeks, but nothing that made us feel sick or held us back. Then we went skiing and on Monday Ben felt really sick. Then Tuesday he was fine. Wednesday he came home from school because he felt icky again. Then yesterday Tommy came home from school early with a fever, chills, stuffy nose, sore throat, the works. The last couple of days my throat gets really raw and my nose plugs up at night. It is just this weird come and go thing. I wonder who will get it next.
Hurry up, spring!

Oh no. That's too bad. I hope everyone feels better soon. I'm feeling the beginnings of something and eating vitamin C like it's candy, hoping to stave it off.

I'm with you 100%! Get here soon Spring...we've endured enough of winter. My girls have a yucky cough right now too...no fun. Hope you all feel better soon!

Hey everyone! Thanks for all the well wishes. We still have weird sore throats that come on at night time but that's about it. I really can't complain. We haven't had any BAD sickness in this house in a long time. This winter has been awful for flu and horridly long lasting colds and we've managed to miss it all. I really shouldn't be complaining about these tiny little colds.
Still, spring CANNOT come soon enough. I so miss grass and flowers.

Words To Live By

Be grateful for each new day.
A new day that you have never lived before.
Twenty-four new, fresh, unexplored hours to use usefully and profitably.
We can squander, neglect, or use them.
Life will be richer or poorer by the way we use today.
Finish every day and be done with it.
You have done what you could;
some blunders and absurdities crept in;
forget them as soon as you can.
Tomorrow is a new day.
You shall begin it well and serenely and with too high a spirit to be
encumbered with your old nonsense.

-Ralph Waldo Emerson
