But then the other night I was giving my little princess a bath and just like that our perfect record was tarnished. One minute she was splashing and playing and I was oohing and aahing and laughing with her, and the next minute she was standing up with a weird look on her face.
"Uh-oh! Oowie!" Grace said to me as she began to scrunch up her precious little face.
Immediately I knew what was about to happen and I sprang forward and swooped her up out of the bath. Just a fraction of a second too late.
Grace had pooped in the bath. My sweet little girlie-girl princess left a huge brick in the bathtub for me to fish out.
I sat her on the toilet as I cleaned out the bathtub and all of her bath toys. The whole time I was saying, "Yucky! Don't poopy in the bathtub! That's gross! Yucky!" Grace watched carefully and repeated back to me, "Poop! Ucky!"
"No." She answered, using her most favorite word.
"Yes you did! No poopy in the bathtub! Uck!" I kept reminding her.
Eventually she got the idea. I hope.
*sigh*
At least she had the sense to look properly embarrassed about it.

This is probably a rite of passage for every parent that has more than one kid. Who could get upset with such a cutie?
It had to happen sooner or later. That picture is adorable though. (At least it was a brick not free floating pieces--just sayin'.)
I hope the poor little tike doesn't get constipated! She just had to go mom. Just add it to your list of credentials for being a real mom. Wait until one of them throws up all over the back of your neck in the car. That is really yukky.
My brother pooped in the tub with all of us in it. not just one brick either, a sea of tootsie rolls. I freaked out, traumatized me for life. See I still remember that.

Oh no I can't honestly remember any of my kids doing that! Unless I completely blocked it out because of the trauma of it! I'm so sorry that sounds nasty.

Aww how cute is that! They just get so relaxed in a nice warm bath and it.. happens. She did recognize it at the "owie" stage. Poor thing.. her and YOU. ;)

Both of my girls pooped in the tub, I agree at least it was a brick, Jill once had peanut butter poop in the tub...yeah that was fun!

Although I don't remember any of my three kids ever doing that, one has to realize it's been a long, long time since each of them was that small where they might have done something like that and my memory ain't always what it used to be. However, the two little grandchildren have done that on a few occasions. Not pleasant, for sure. But it still made me laugh.
Right after I posted that comment above, I remembered one time when my older daughter was small and being potty trained that my Mom thought the kid had pooped on the floor. However, upon investigation, she realized that it was her fault because she had forgotten to put the "pot" under the potty chair!
I cannot believe after 4 kids that never happened to you before! And the sweet little GIRL child does it! Ha!

My aunt loves to tell the story about my cousin Matt pooping in the bathtub and lining his turds up on the edge of the tub according to height.
He grew up to be an architect.

LOL! That's hilarious. I always thought the same thing about my nieces who would poo in the tub and think MY KID HAS NEVER DONE THAT! Insert baby #2. Remove foot from thoughts.
