And now it begins
All the thatching and seeding
And yard work to do

Starting them off young
So they get used to helping
For now they love it

Joey always says,
"When I'm big I'LL cut the grass"
Damn skippy, lil man!

Then Tommy argues,
"But I get to plow the snow!"
Damn skippy, lil man!

For now they all rake
Which is really more like play
But cute nonetheless

They love to be out
Just hanging with their daddy
Soaking up the sun
****
They'll get plenty sun
At the cabin this weekend
At least 'til Sunday.

I hope you all have
A long relaxing weekend
Filled with warm sunshine

God bless you, dear Vets
And thank you for your service

Yes, God Bless you Dear Vets!!
Great Haiku - I loved it! I love those boys helping their daddy too - sweet!
Have a good Friday, Kathryn - see you - Kellan
That was very well done! I can't wait for us to move out of this townhouse community into a house with our own private yard. It sounds like you have some great quality family time in yours.
You've quoted.linked back to me two days in a row? And, using my damn skippys! Awww. I'm gonna cry!
Very good training you've got going on. My son is terrified of mowing, because hubs wears a mask for his allergies.
Aaaahhh...
Little boys as yard men are the best, I must say!
Have a great weekend!
i can't wait to start our boys doing yard work. alas, we just moved into a new development and we don't have grass yet...our yard is just a giant muck hole! ;-)
great haiku and cute pics!
What a great post, and PERFECT picture!
Have a wonderful Memorial weekend. Hope you have a great time soaking up the sun.
It is snowing at our house again, and so therefore, I will live vicariously through you! :)
Such a great haiku and an adorable picture, too!
Have a great weekend Kathryn! I hope it's filled with sun, hot dogs and lots of watermelon :-)
Too cute.
My daughter loves to "help" too...when she feels like it.
Way to go training them early! Have a great weekend!
our first american holiday out of the country... no three day weekend for us. but we still remember to observe and respect! nice haiku
That's a great haiku! "Damn skippy, lil man" lol
And amen to the last verse. God bless!
Great haiku! Happy Memorial Day weekend!
They fight over who gets to do what work. Gotta love that!
Have a good weekend!
Great post. Have a wonderful weekend. You were so smart to start them young. My 5 year old is the only one who likes to help. The others--it's torture--for them and for us. They just don't like outdoor chores, indoors they help great. We'll keep working on it!
very well done.
(and i hope your boys don't forget what they lobbied to do!!)
great haiku.
And now I'm going straight to itunes and download this song Fidelity. When I first heard it I thought, "Gee. Dido sounds peppy."
I always love your Friday haikus...this one was was really great. Have a wonderful weekend.
Great final sentiment: I hope God does indeed bless the vets and active servicemen.
In 10 years, your kids will be doing anything at all to avoid these chores but looks like they are having a blast now!
I love it!! First time I have ever seen "Damn Skippy lil man" in a haiku and it's fabulous!!
That is so great that they're all out there happy to help their dad get the lawn ready, not complaining! Have a great long weekend :)
Have a great weekend. :)
Great post, and I love your blog!
How did I just find you now? :-)
Have a wonderful weekend!
Love it! Have a wonderful weekend.
I'd love to do those things....if only this darn rain would stop!
Wonderful! To say that they wanna help now is always what they say. Give um a couple of years. Kayla almost 9 used to say things like that, now you can't get her to do anything!
Great haiku. Enjoy your weekend!
Great memorial day spirit! Yeah, summertime is coming. My favorite time of year!
Have a wonderful time enjoying the long weekend with your dear guys. :)
Happy Weekend, my friend!

I'd love to do those things but we have no yard:( One day.
Ah, I can't wait until my daughter is old enough to wield a shovel :) What? My dad made me rake the yard ;)
