A Weekend In Pictures

It was a wonderful weekend.  A busy weekend. I'll sum it up in pictures.

There were flowers, cards, a day shopping and having lunch with Todd sans kiddos, and lots of birthday hugs and kisses.
And of course, cake!
The next day there was more shopping and some Easter prep too.
Then it was Easter!  After a quick search everyone found their baskets.
Commence the sugar overload!
Time for church.
A family picture before lunch with my side of the family.
The kidlets with Grandma.
Sitting outside after lunch.  The princess playing with sticks.  hehe  (the boys have silly expressions on their faces because the sun was shining in their eyes a bit and I told them to close their eyes and on the count of three lift their heads up, open their eyes, and smile.  It worked!  Thank you America's Next Top Model for that little trick!  ;)  )
From lunch with my family straight over to Todd's folks for dinner with his family.   Some of us were a bit tired.  A certain little lady fell asleep on her Auntie Kris for a little while.
After the nap it was all fun and games again.  The boys were tearing around with their cousins, playing so wildly that I could not capture them in pictures.  Luckily, Grace was very excited to repeatedly show people her pretty dress and fancy new shoes, and happily posed for pictures.
Sitting with Grandpa.
Cuddling with Grandma.
And we made it through.  Happily.
And with a bit of silliness.
How was your weekend? Did you make it through?

I love seeing the pictures of you and your family -watching your kids grow up, so quickly too. Grace is just one beautiful little diva! (And the boys -just such handsome young men too.) But the thing with those photos, especially with the grandparents, is someday, down the road, those shots will become more and more precious to you as a way of keeping family -and wonderful memories -all present in your mind.
We had a very nice dinner but my older daughter had to work this weekend so she and the older grandson were unable to be here. the only disaster, so to speak, was my batch of limpa rye bread that didn't turn out very good -crust way too hard, didn't bake thoroughly so it is on the doughy side and that was a big disappointment for me as I really love that kind of bread. Oh well. I take it as a signal that I need to bake bread more often to keep gaining a better touch and feel for it as it rises and bakes I think.
Happy Easter -a day late.

Made it through. had the entire family (both sides) at the new house for Easter dinner, then had the neice and nephew spend the night and off to a science museum today. Now it's time to crash. MQ back to school tomorrow. whew.

and maybe it's not this way in person, but in pictures I think Benjamin looks the most like Todd. In the picture with the baskets on the couch I thought "yikes, he's a mini Todd!" your whole family is beautiful.

So. Adorable. The kids are pretty cute, too, but you are downright adorable. ;-)

PM- You are exactly right! I think Ben looks like a little mini Todd too. Tommy and Grace looks a lot like me and Joey is a pretty good mix (although he does look a lot like Todd's dad and my mom too).

BB- Aww. You are too sweet!

And girl, you are looking FABULOUS! I don't think I've ever seen your hair this long but I like it! You look radiant and young and all while being a mom to four kids. Amazing!! :-) xoxo

Oh, you got some awesome family pics there! And Grace's dress is super adorable....I've found myself liking pink more as an adult, too!

I'm so with you on the pink...in both ways. Then, ick, and even after the first girl, but now, I tend to go towards it in little doses!

I love that you got some adult time and you were a little silly, too!

It's been a while, but I just caught up with all of your pictures, and it looks like you've been a busy girl! Love Grace's Easter dress - you are having such fun with the girl & pink, huh? :) And Joey does look so sweet for his first communion. Too fast!
PS - Have that shirt you wore on Easter in Carolina blue - love it!

Words To Live By

Be grateful for each new day.
A new day that you have never lived before.
Twenty-four new, fresh, unexplored hours to use usefully and profitably.
We can squander, neglect, or use them.
Life will be richer or poorer by the way we use today.
Finish every day and be done with it.
You have done what you could;
some blunders and absurdities crept in;
forget them as soon as you can.
Tomorrow is a new day.
You shall begin it well and serenely and with too high a spirit to be
encumbered with your old nonsense.

-Ralph Waldo Emerson
