PSF- Baby, It's Cold Outside

PhotoStory Friday
Hosted by Cecily and Honey Mommy
I was in Tarjay the other day when a woman came up to me and asked how I do it. How do I keep my little baby warm in this cold. The woman just moved here from California and she said she couldn't imagine having a little one to carry around during these freezing Wisconsin winters (I didn't have the heart to tell her that it hasn't even been that cold yet). So, how do I keep my babies warm?

It is called layers. Lots and lots of layers.

Luckily, I found some really cute layers.
And if that isn't warm enough we bundle. First, layers of clothes, then blankets, then hats and mittens, and then a cover up. See? All cozy and warm and snug as a bug in a rug.

I kind of wish someone would bundle me up and carry me around like this when it is cold outside.

  2. So cute! And lol about that woman not knowing what's coming....like I'm one to talk, though, I think it's freezing here when it's 50!

  4. I concur! I want someone to carry me around all snug and warm too! It really hasn't gotten as cold as it can yet. That woman is in for it come January and February!

  6. I must have had one of the warmest baby carrier blankets, I rarely had to put a jacket on her. She did have a nice warm hat though.
    Grace is adorable.

  7. Grace has such a pretty face!

I can't imagine having to bundle up that much to go out but I'm sure you are used to it! : )

  9. Adorable! I am so worried about my little baby girl. She is my first to be born in the winter. I wish I had one of those cute cover-ups, although I am sure we won't have too many days cold enough for one.

  10. What a gorgeous little girl you have Kat. I will go anywhere and do just about anything for warmth -- maybe Utah isn't the best place to spend the winter -- although it has to beat Wisconsin :)

  11. Agreed! Wouldn't THAT be nice...sigh*

  12. Ha! Cuteness, I love that last picture, all you can see is her tiny adorable face peeking out. I am getting more and more sick of the cold (and rain, I live in NW WA) every year that goes by...and I'm sure it doesn't get as cold as were you are! I'm already itching for some summer time. Lots of cute dresses just waiting for my baby girl!! :)

  13. OMG, I love that last picture! I live in Florida and I've never even seen anything like that. Adorable!
Next week it's supposed to get in the 20's here and I am MAD! I swear I'm moving to the Keys.

  14. Loved the layers on both levels -first the outfits and such -very pretty and second, darned good advice for all of us to pay heed to -layering!
And you're so right about this is nothing yet when thinking about how cold it really gets in the northern states in January and February! Temps here frequently drop way below zero and I'm not even thinking about wind chill factors that ride along with that! BRRRR. Baby it's gonna get a lot colder, for sure!

  15. We had a "bundle me" for our son's car seat/carrier 2 Winters ago when he was little and it kept him nice and snuggly warm... easiest way to get him to sleep was bundle him up in that thing and go for a car ride!

  19. Well that is just too cute for words!

  20. Plenty of ways to keep baby warm.... it's us the parents who are too lazy to bundle ourselves! :)

  21. Oh - have you ever seen a BUNDLE ME? I found one at a Once Upon a Child (2nd hand kids store) and it's all wool...no need to even layer the baby and smoosh her into the seatbelt! It's soooooo cozy and warm enough for these winters. Just a thought if you don't like layering. :-)

  27. Me too! And what's sadder is that I bundle my babies in a similar looking thing...for TEXAS! I must have no cold tolerance.

  29. I would definitely be that woman inside Tar-jay wondering how you keep your baby warm. This will be my first REAL winter with a baby, and I'm a bit nervous.

I just love the cocoon you have her in!
