PSF- It's A Mystery

PhotoStory Friday
Hosted by Cecily and MamaGeek

Ever since we had our bathroom remodeled and our shower completely overhauled Joey and Tommy have been constantly begging to take showers. They love going in there together whistling, singing songs, and playing around with buckets and scrub brushes like a crazy naked duo version of the seven dwarfs. Come to think of it I should give them tile cleaner and toothbrushes to scrub every nook and cranny next time they are in there. What? They'll think it's fun and I'll have a sparkling clean shower!

Anyway, it is one of life's great mysteries to me why when I make them stick their heads under the warm spray of the shower head they scream as if I am administering some kind of medieval torture devise, and yet they have no problem doing this...

or even this... in the freezing cold sprinkler water. Why is that?

  5. Hahahahaha, that's really funny. I'd just give them a little soap to take under the sprinker. ;)

  6. What is it with boys and the outdoor hose !!

  7. Hilarious. Maybe you could try planting a tree and putting in a sunroof/skylight in the shower. Just a thought.

I Loved your playlist, especially when you have a Mom or Dad post and you put on some romantic oldie song.

  8. I was wondering the same thing over here on the fringe!!!!!

    Great photos BTW!

  9. Because one is getting clean and the other is just play. Those photos are adorable. :)

  10. So funny! The same reason giving them the scrub brushes and toothbrushes won't get your shower clean. They just KNOW these things! I'm glad yours enjoy the sprinkler. My complain endlessly about how COLD it is!

  11. That's one unique shower!

    ReplyDelete
  15. Great question! But..what cute pictures!

    ReplyDelete
  16. Now that's hilarious and true. We suffer from the same syndrom here. WHY IS THAT? It MUST be boy thing, right?

    ReplyDelete
  17. MG's totally right. It's such a boy child thing. They love to be defiant and difficult sometimes.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Cause they're stinkers that's why!! Same thing around here (with the 4-yr old anyway). Love these pictures!

    ReplyDelete
  19. Oh, boys just crack me up!! Cute shots!

    ReplyDelete
  20. ha ha! What fun!!! :) Just throw him some soap...and he's got himself a shower! haha.

Also- thanks for those kind words, on my blog. You're right- I get many people saying "must be a real problem," when they don't understand that's it's just as bad to be underweight, as it is to be overweight. Your words gave me encouragement, and I really appreciate that!

  21. Love these pics!! Nice capture. I love any pics that involve my kids in water.

  26. That is defiantly one of life's greatest most frustrating mysteries! Just l last night I gave the showers and you'd have thought I was murdering EmmaLece! She worked herself up to being sick! I'm so glad to read that it is not just my kids that freak in the nice safe shower!

  27. Commitment. That is what I would call it. I would probably run away as soon as the water hit me.

    ReplyDelete
  28. I never thought about that, so funny and so true. What a cutie pie.Curious what the other two were doing during this? Probably watching in awe. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  29. Apparently you just need to figure out how to squirt soap and shampoo as they're doing this and you'll be able to save yourself many migraines!

    ReplyDelete
  30. If you figure it out could you let me know? I have 2 that do that too! :) So silly aren't they?

    ReplyDelete
  31. That's a good question. I don't have that problem, my son loves the water in all forms, bath shower sprinkler, pool hose, if it's water he's all for it. Those are great pictures.

    ReplyDelete
  32. I wonder that too. I also wonder how they can pee their name in the snow in CURSIVE but manage to miss the toilet bowl EVERY DANG TIME they pee indoors!

    ReplyDelete
  33. GREAT pictures. My boys love the water anywhere on their faces..yes they are freakish like that.

    ReplyDelete
  34. That is a question! I wonder the same thing sometimes.

    ReplyDelete
  35. LOL! I'm sure it's a question many of us have :) Those are fabulous pics!!!

I say hand him a loofa sponge and some soap ;)

    ReplyDelete
  36. Hmmm, if you figure it out let me know. Cute pictures, though.

Oh, and your bathroom looks delightful. IMO, there's nothing better than a truly pleasant bathroom.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Now THAT is a question for the ages. And those shots are hilarious. Perfect capture of a boy moment.

    Love this PSF!!!

  38. I think it's because kids will be kids! If you want them to do it, it's out, but if it's their decision, it's on!

If only we could figure out how to make kids decide what we want them to decide!

    ReplyDelete
  39. Haha If you figure it out, let me know:)

  40. Testosterone-->Exhibitionism--> cold showers.

    ReplyDelete

  43. One of life's great mysteries (regardless of gender, I might add). I like your clean the shower "game." Lots of natural cleaners now make this a great idea.

    ReplyDelete
  44. the shower is YOUR idea, the sprinkler is theirs.
I hosed my kids off after playing in the mud and they thought it was cruel, but they liked sprinklers too.

    ReplyDelete
  45. You put a big smile on my face. Okay, an even bigger smile than the one that's normally there!

    ReplyDelete
  46. HAHA. So funny!!

Oh, and I tagged you for an award :)

    ReplyDelete
  47. just a guess but maybe they scream in the shower because they aren't in control, like the sprinkler? Too cute.

    ReplyDelete
  48. That's too funny - well said!

    ReplyDelete
  49. LOL-that is hilarious. Kids are definitely a mystery sometimes.

    ReplyDelete
  50. i say run with it. hand them the soap and shampoo when they go outside.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Ha, ha, I don't know why, it is a mystery to me too. My kids hate bath water in their faces but let the drain spout pour out rain all over their little heads.
    I don't get it!

    ReplyDelete
  52. I have no idea why that is, but you're right!
    They are too cute!

    ReplyDelete
  53. i'm totally laughing out loud with this one. :-)

    ReplyDelete
  54. Wow, I never thought about that and it is so totally true!

    ReplyDelete
  55. Oh the irony of children, LOL!

And I am 100% making children clean as if it is fun.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Random comment: If I had to pick someone to defend me in a scrap, I'd pick you. I'm betting you could whip just about anybody.
    Thank you, Kat.

    ReplyDelete
  57. I would TOTALLY encourage them to clean the shower, but The Girl accuses me of treating her like Cinderella, so maybe I'm not the best one to ask.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Funny.

I have asked myself that same question before.

    Silly kiddos.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Thanks for visiting my blog!!! I love those pics, love them!!!

    ReplyDelete
  60. Ha! Why is that? Mine scream like crazy when I try to wash/rinse their hair but they have no problem with the sprinkler water or in the pool.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Am I seriously your 63rd comment?
    You. rock.
    What a great PSF!
Love the photos and the story.

  65. You warned me you were going to write a post just like my recent realization!! :)

    ReplyDelete
  66. Great pics. Boys are freakin nuts, do what they want and contradict everything you want them to do...that's all I have to say!
